A music box with reduced weight and improved sound quality has a base frame that is formed by plastic deformation of a plate that includes a metal material, a drum that is held on the base frame and which comprises a plurality of engaging pins, a comb that is fixed to a comb mount formed on the base frame and which generates a given sound by being picked by the engaging pins, and an improved, rigid base frame.

Music box having an improved, rigid base frame

A music box is arranged for increased compactness. The music box includes a comb having vibrating teeth, a drum with a rotational axis with a plurality of pins on an outer surface for engaging ends of said teeth, a coil spring having a winding shaft for driving the drum, an accelerating gear row for accelerating the rotation speed of the spring winding shaft, a braking member engaging with the gear row for braking and a base frame for transmitting the vibration of the comb to a mounting member. The rotational axis of the drum and the spring shaft are arranged vertical to the base frame and the spring shaft is substantially centered on the frame. The drum, comb, accelerating gear and brake are disposed about the centered spring shaft to provide a more compact arrangement.

Compact music box

A music box comprises a comb having vibrating teeth, a drum having elements for plucking the comb for playing music, a driving source for rotating the drum, a speed governor for regulating rotation speed and a frame for supporting the comb, drum, driving source and speed governor. The speed governor further comprises an accelerating train having two worms and a control device provided on a last row of the accelerating train. A position maintaining element is integrally arranged with the frame for preventing at least the first worm positioned on the driving source side, of the two worms referred to, from moving in the thrust direction. In one form, the music box has a driving source which includes a spring. One end of the spring is engaged with a winding shaft arranged in a spring housing of the spring and the other end is engaged with an engagement section provided on the frame. A contact section is formed on the frame for preventing the other end of the spring engaged with the engagement section from moving out of the spring housing.

A small brush-use DC motor includes a stator member including a first stator case in which a magnet is disposed; a rotor member including a rotor core on which a coil is wound, a magnetic center of the rotor core being staggered with respect to the magnetic center of the magnet; a commutator unit having a commutator on a conical portion thereof, the commutator rotating together with the rotor member; and brushes held by a second stator case in such a manner that the brushes are brought into contact with the commutator under a predetermined pressure.

Small brush-use DC motor

A governor is provided with a pulley comprising a casing, a pulley rotatably supported by the casing and a long member wound around the pulley. The pulley is rotated when the long member is pulled. A spring member is provided for urging the pulley in the direction in which the long member is wound up. A braking device is provided for braking the pulley when the long member is pulled. A long member winding up portion is formed in the pulley so that winding up diameters thereof change as the long member is being pulled out which, in turn, changes the operation of the braking device.

A block unit for a block toy contains a block body having protrusions and recesses through which the block body is freely connectable to other block units; a rotary shaft rotatably supported in the block body in such a manner that the rotary shaft is extended in a block coupling direction in which the block unit is coupled to other block units through the protrusions and recesses thereof; and a rotation transmitting mechanism for transmitting the rotation of the rotary shaft to other block bodies coupled to the block unit body, the rotation transmitting mechanism provided at the ends of the rotary shaft, the rotation transmitting mechanism being freely connectable to rotation transmitting mechanism of other block units. The block unit may include a drive source such as an electric motor mounted therein.

Block units for a block toy

An inexpensive timer unit which can operate stably in the event of a power failure. The timer unit acts to switch the operation times of two valve mechanisms for opening and closing fluid passages. The unit comprises a rotatable windup shaft, a torsion coil spring, an eddy-current-generating governor mechanism, and two cams. Energy is stored in the spring by rotating the windup shift through a given angle so as to tighten the spring. The speed of rotation of the windup shaft when the tightened spring is released is adjusted by the governor mechanism. At this time, the rotation of the windup shaft is transmitted to the cams. The profiles of the cams are determined according to the operation times of the valve mechanisms.

Timer unit for controlling valves

A device for electronically generating a sound according to the present invention includes an integrated circuit chip producing electronic signals corresponding to a desired melody, a switch controlling the ON and OFF states of the integrated circuit chip, a battery powering the integrated circuit chip, a sound generator having a dish-shaped vibrating plate and producing sounds responsive to the electronic signals, and a circuit pattern section having a plurality of lead portions interconnecting the integrated circuit chip, the switch, the battery and the sound generator. The circuit pattern section is formed by punching a conductive metal sheet in a press. Selected ones of the lead portions can advantageously be formed by punching into the battery holder or the switch. According to one aspect of the invention, an acoustic chamber is defined by the sound generator and a cover formed by potting or injection molding. According to another aspect of the invention, a resin seal is formed over the integrated circuit chip. A method for forming the electronic sound generating device is also described.

Herein disclosed is a continuous speed change type door check for closing a door, which comprises: a pivot pin made rotatable; a slider adapted to be linearly moved by the rotations of the pivot pin and to rotate the pivot pin when it returns; a coil spring for biasing the slider to return; a gear train for speeding up the rotations of the pivot pin; a brake connected to the gear train; and a one-way transmission clutch for operating the brake in a direction to close the door.

Mechanical door check

Braking of independently-movable pivotable members is carried out by independent one-way clutch mechanisms which provide minimal braking force to the pivotable members in the vicinity of the limit points of their pivotable movement, and provide optimal braking force in a middle range of pivotable movement. The braking mechanism provided may operate on one or both of the pivotable members at the same time, each of the independent clutch mechanisms providing suitable braking force to compensate for the mass of the respective pivotable members.

Speed governor for toilet or the like

A door check is disclosed which comprises a first arm pivotally attached at one end thereof to a door which is able to be opened and closed as desired; a second arm pivotally attached at one end thereof to the first arm, the other end of the second arm being pivotally attached to a door frame for supporting the door in such a manner that the door is able to be opened and closed as desired; a driving force storing spring retained by either the first or second arm and biased in response to the pivotal motion of the door in the opening direction so as to store force for driving the door in the closing direction; a gear train for transmitting the rotation of the door when opened to said driving force storing spring and also transmitting the driving force stored in the driving force storing spring to the door; a brake rotated by means of the force released from the driving force storing spring to apply a brake force to the force; and a speed increasing gear train coupled at its starting end to said driving force storing spring to transmit the force released from the driving force storing spring to the brake after increasing the speed thereof. The speed increasing gear train has a worm in the final stage thereof.

Door check

A spring drive device in which a spring holder, a rotor and an output gear are all loosely mounted on a shaft. The spring holder is prevented from rotating and holds one end of a coil spring, the other end of which is held by the output gear. The rotor rotates together with the output gear but is limited in the angle through which it can rotate. The coil spring can be wound and thereafter provide motive power to the output gear.

Spring drive device

A buffer or damping device affixable as a unit to a rotating gear 22. The buffer includes a first gear 2, 3 engaging the rotating gear and a geared one-way clutch 4. The clutch is linked to a worm 7c on a shaft 7. A damping member 8 is fixed to the shaft and it expands under rotation to frictionally contact a sliding contact member 6 to thereby damp the rotation of the rotating member. All elements are enclosed in a case 1 and cover 9, except a portion of the first gear.

Buffer device

An acoustic sound generating device comprises a base frame, at least one vibrating rod member composed of a base end portion secured to said base frame, an intermediate portion having a small diameter and a free end portion to be picked, and a pawl segment having at least one associated picking projection for picking the free end. The pawl segment is operatively movable with the free end picked to thereby produce acoustic sounds.
