Provided is a method for producing a cylindrical nanoimprinting mold such that the outer peripheral surface of a cylindrical aluminum substrate is uniformly polished, and it is possible to effectively take advantage of the outer peripheral surface. Method for producing cylindrical nanoimprinting mold and method for producing nanoimprinting reproduction mold

A light guide () for a surface light source used to constitute a surface light source in combination with a primary light source () and guiding light emitted from the primary light source (). The light guide () has a light incident end face () on which the light emitted from the primary light source () impinges, a light exit face () from which guided light exits, and a rear surface () on the opposite side. A plurality of prism arrays () extending in a direction traversing the light incident end face () are formed on at least one of the light exit face () and the rear surface (), and each prism array () has a plurality of divided top portions () where the top is divided in the cross-section profile thereof in at least a partial region in the extending direction.

Light guide for surface light source device and surface light source device

An optical deflector element has a light incoming surface () in which light enters and a light outgoing surface () located opposite the light incoming surface and from which light exits. In the light incoming surface () are arranged elongated prisms (A) in parallel to each other. Each of the elongated prisms (A) is formed by a top end flat face () located at the top end of the elongated prism and having an inclination angle (b) of 1 to 50 degrees, a first prism face () located at one side of the flat face, and a second prism face () at the other side. A light source device is formed by combining the optical deflector element, light guide and a primary light source. The light guide has a light incident face in which light emitted from the primary light source enters, and a light emitting face from which guided light exits. The combination above provides a light source device that does not have degradation in luminance and has excellent quality free from visual defects including a black stripe and a Moire pattern.

Optical deflector element and light source device

In a lens sheet, a lens portion () made of activation energy curing resin such as ultraviolet curing resin has a plurality of lens units, the lens portion () is disposed on at least one side of a transparent substrate () such as plastic sheet, a relaxation layer () is disposed between the transparent substrate () and the lens portion (), and the thickness of the relaxation layer () is within a range of 1% to 30% of the height (H) of the lens units. The relaxation layer () is made of activation energy curing resin and formed integrally with the lens portion (). The refractive index of the transparent substrate () is lower than that of the lens portion (). The lens units are elongated prisms each having a substantially triangular cross section. The thickness of the relaxation layer is within a range of 1 &#x3bc;m to 10 &#x3bc;m, for example. The prisms have the vertical angle of 50&#xb0; to 75&#xb0; and are arranged with a pitch of 10 &#x3bc;m to 150 &#x3bc;m. The lens sheet having the relaxation layer () is obtained by providing activation energy curing composition to an area between a lens portion transferring pattern surface of a lens forming mold and one side of the transparent substrate to form a composition layer between the lens forming mold and the transparent substrate, and making the thickness of the composition layer uniform with use of a nip roll disposed so as to confront the other side of said transparent substrate while nip pressure of the nip roll is regulated by pressure regulating means. Due to the relaxation layer (), the deformation of the surface of the lens portion caused by polymerization shrinkage of the activation energy curing composition is suppressed so as to prevent occurrence of the optical defect in the lens sheet such as spot pattern, glare, etc.

Lens sheet and method of manufacturing the same

In a lens sheet, a lens portion made if activation energy curing resin such as ultraviolet curing resin has a plurality of lens units, the lens portion is disposed on at least one side of a transparent substrate such as plastic sheet, a relaxation layer is disposed between the transparent substrate and the lens portion, and the thickness of the relaxation layer is within a range of 1% to 30% of the height of the lens units. The relaxation layer is made of activation energy curing resin and formed integrally with the lens portion. The refractive index of the transparent substrate is lower than that of the lens portion. The lens units are elongated prisms each having a substantially triangular cross section.
