In a power conversion apparatus, an inverter converts a DC voltage supplied from a battery into an AC voltage, and a DC-to-DC converter steps up or down the DC voltage. A case has an input terminal to which a power line from the battery is connected so as to input the DC voltage to the inverter, and a converter input terminal to which a power line to the DC-to-DC converter is connected so as to input the DC voltage to the DC-to-DC converter. The case has a reference wall and an opposed wall opposed to each other. The inverter input terminal is disposed adjacent to the reference wall with respect to an imaginary plane that bisects the case between the reference wall and the opposed wall. The converter input terminal is disposed adjacent to the opposed wall with respect to the imaginary plane.

Power conversion apparatus

An electric power converter includes a semiconductor module constituting a power conversion circuit, a capacitor electrically connected to the semiconductor module, and a cooling member for cooling the capacitor. The capacitor includes an element body provided with internal electrode, and a pair of end-face-electrodes provided on both end faces of the element body and connected to the internal electrode. The pair of end-face-electrodes are connected with a pair of bus bars, respectively, in a manner of surface contact. The capacitor is disposed in a state where one of the pair of end-face-electrodes is facing the cooling member. The end-face-electrode facing the cooling member is in contact with the cooling member via the bus bar.

Electric power converter

An electric power converter has a stacked body formed by stacking a plurality of semiconductor modules and coolers, a capacitor, and positive and negative bus bars. Each of the bus bars is formed by two sheets of plate members, respectively. Each of the plate members has a body portion, a plurality of extended portions, and a plurality of terminal connecting portions. The terminal connecting portions are connected to power terminals of the semiconductor modules. The main body portion of each plate member are joined to each other so that the terminal connecting portion of the one of the plate members and the terminal connecting portionof the other one of the plate member are disposed alternately in a stacking direction of the stacked body.

A power converter is equipped with a semiconductor module stack, a positive bus bar stack, and a negative bus bar stack. The positive bus bar stack has a first positive bus bar and a second positive bus bar stacked. The negative bus bar stack also has a first negative bus bar and a second negative bus bar stacked in a stacking direction Z of the positive bus bar stack. The first semiconductor modules of the semiconductor module stack are connected to the first positive bus bar and the first negative bus bar, while the second semiconductor modules of the semiconductor module stack are connected to the second positive bus bar and the second negative bus bar. This results in a decreased variation in mutual inductance among the semiconductor modules, which leads to a decrease in overall inductance of the power converter.

Power converter with bus bars

The power conversion apparatus includes a power module constituting a switching circuit, a capacitor electrically connected to the power module, and a pair of DC bus bars for transferring electric power to and from the pair of the DC bus bars. The pair of the DC bus bars includes a bus bar extension section which is located along a surface of the capacitor at least at part of a portion thereof constituting a current path between the power module and the capacitor.

A positive-electrode connecting plate () that connects positive-electrode terminals () of a plurality of power converter circuits is provided with slits (). The positive-electrode connecting plate has a positive-electrode bus bar portion () on which a first inverter corresponding region () that is connected to the positive-electrode terminal () of a first inverter as one of the power converter circuits via a positive-electrode connecting piece (), a second inverter corresponding region () that is connected to the positive-electrode terminal () of a second inverter as one of the power converter circuits via a positive-electrode connecting piece () and a boost converter corresponding region () that is connected to the positive-electrode terminal () of a boost converter as one of the power converter circuits via a positive-electrode connecting piece () are defined. The slits extend from an edge () of the positive-electrode bus bar portion along the boundaries between the regions.

Power converter

The power conversion device includes a plurality of semiconductor modules, each having a main body section including a switching element therein. In a module unit, a positive module and a negative module are disposed such that main surfaces of the respective main body sections oppose each other. A positive terminal, a first intermediate terminal, a negative terminal, and a second intermediate terminal project in a Z direction perpendicular to X direction in which the positive module and the negative module oppose each other. A first vector Vfrom the positive terminal towards the first intermediate terminal and a second vector Vfrom the second intermediate terminal towards the negative terminal are configured such that these vector components Vand Vin a Y direction perpendicular to both the X and Z directions are opposite to each other.

Power conversion device

A power converter includes a plurality of semiconductor modules that have main body sections, each of the main body sections has a semiconductor element therein, and power terminals projected from the main body sections, and a plurality of bus bars that connect the power terminals of the semiconductor modules. At least one of the plurality of the bus bars are connecting bus bars which have a plurality of terminal connecting sections that connect the power terminals of the plurality of different semiconductor modules, and connecting sections that connect the terminal connecting sections. The entirety of each of the connecting bus bars is formed integrally. The terminal connecting sections and the connecting section of every connecting bus bar are provided alternately in the connecting bus bar, and disposed in substantially the same position in a projecting direction of the power terminals.

The invention provides techniques for reducing or altering the magnetic noise of an AC rotary electric machine. A magnetic noise reducing harmonic current of order n, whose frequency is n times the frequency of the fundamental frequency component of a polyphase AC current fed to an armature of a polyphase AC rotary electric machine, is superimposed on the polyphase AC current, thereby reducing or altering a harmonic component having a frequency (n&#x2212;1) times the frequency of the fundamental frequency component and occurring due to a radial magnetic excitation force acting radially on an iron core of the AC rotary electric machine. Magnetic noise is caused by a vibration whose energy is the sum of the circumferential and radial vibrations of the iron core occurring due to the magnetomotive force of the rotor, and altering the radial vibration is particularly effective in altering the magnetic noise; as the harmonic component of the radially acting magnetic excitation force, occurring due to harmonic components having frequencies 3, 5, 7, and 13 times the fundamental frequency, has a frequency 6 or 12 times the fundamental frequency, the magnetomotive force of the rotor can be effectively reduced or altered when a current having a frequency 7 or 13 times the fundamental frequency is superimposed on the stator current.
