A liquid receiver of a condenser has a liquid receiver main body and a plug removably fitted thereinto. The liquid receiver main body has a refrigerant inflow hole into which refrigerant flows from a condensation section and a refrigerant outflow hole from which refrigerant flows into a supercooling section. The liquid receiver has a first space formed above the upper end of the plug and communicating with the refrigerant inflow hole and a second space formed below the upper end of the plug and communicating with the refrigerant outflow hole. The plug has a flow passage which is open to the first space and the second space at opposite ends. The first-space-side opening of the flow passage is located below the refrigerant inflow hole. The flow passage has a throttle portion whose cross-sectional area is smaller than a hole area of the refrigerant inflow hole.

Condenser with liquid receiver

A liquid receiver is composed of a tubular base member having open upper and lower ends, a tubular tank member having a closed upper end and an open lower end and joined to the base member, and a plug fitted into the base member. A female screw is provided on the inner circumferential surface of the base member, and refrigerant inflow and outflow holes are formed in a portion of the base member above the female screw such that the former is located above the latter. A male screw to be screwed into the female screw is provided on the outer circumferential surface of the plug to be located below the refrigerant outflow hole. Sealing is established between a portion of the inner circumferential surface of the base member located below the female screw and a portion of the outer circumferential surface of the plug located below the male screw.

Liquid receiver and condenser using the same

A condenser includes a condensation section, a super-cooling section, and a liquid receiving section. Refrigerant from heat exchange tubes of a first heat exchange path of the condensation section flows into those of a second heat exchange path through the liquid receiving section. The liquid receiving section includes a first space for receiving refrigerant from the heat exchange tubes of the first heat exchange path, a second space which is located above the first space and in which refrigerant from the first space is separated into gaseous and liquid phases, and a third space which is located below the first space, which receives refrigerant from the second space, and from which refrigerant flows to the heat exchange tubes of the second heat exchange path. A first partition member between the first space and the second space has a throttle for refrigerant flowing from the first space into the second space.

Condenser

An intermediate heat exchangerincludes a double tubeand a liquid reservoir. The double tubehas an outer tubeand an inner tubedisposed inside the outer tubewith a clearance formed therebetween. The clearance between the outer tubeand the inner tube serves as a high-temperature-side refrigerant passage, through which refrigerant of high pressure flowing out of a condenser flows, and the interior of the inner tubeserves as a low-temperature-side refrigerant passage, through which refrigerant of low pressure flowing out of an evaporator flows. The liquid reservoir, which communicates with the high-temperature-side refrigerant passageof the double tube, stores the refrigerant of high pressure flowing out of the condenser before the pressure of the refrigerant is reduced by a pressure reducer, and separate liquid-phase refrigerant and gas-phase refrigerant. The outer tubeof the double tubehas a refrigerant inletand a refrigerant outletcommunicating with the high-temperature-side refrigerant passage. At an intermediate position between the refrigerant inletand the refrigerant outlet, refrigerant flows from the high-temperature-side refrigerant passageof the double tubeinto the liquid reservoir, and returns from the liquid reservoirto the high-temperature-side refrigerant passage
