A propylene block copolymer with a high proportion of ethylene-propylene copolymer particles (rubber component) well dispersed in a propylene polymer exhibiting well-balanced rigidity and impact resistance can be obtained by using a solid catalyst for polymerization of olefins comprising (a) a solid catalyst component with controlled morphology, comprising magnesium, titanium, and a halogen atom, having an average particle diameter, specific surface area, and pore volume in a specific range, and having a pore size distribution in which an cumulative pore volume with a pore size of 100 &#x212b; or less is more than 50%, (b) an organoaluminum compound, and (c) an organosilicon compound. The block copolymer is very useful particularly for the application of vehicle parts such as a bumper and parts for household electric appliances.

A heat-sensitive recording material wherein a copolymer emulsion is employed, the copolymer emulsion being obtained by copolymerizing a monomer component which comprises (meth)acrylamide and an optional unsaturated monomer component copolymerizable with (meth)acrylamide in the presence of a seed emulsion serving as a nucleating particle. In the heat-sensitive recording material, the intermediate layer, the heat-sensitive recording layer or the protective layer comprises the copolymer emulsion. The recordinq layer and the resulting recorded images of such a heat-sensitive recording material have sufficient durability (such as water resistance, heat resistance, resistance to plasticizers and resistance to solvents) and the resistance to heat softening of the protective layer. The heat-sensitive recording material can be produced through easy process control and is excellent in color developing sensitivity.

A thermosensitive recording paper is disclosed useful for thermosensitive recording which comprises a substrate, a thermosensitive recording layer and an undercoat layer interposed therebetween which contains 10 to 40 parts of a binder and 60 to 90 parts by weight of crosslinked polymer microparticles having a particle diameter of 0.2 to 5.0 .mu.m and a ratio of weight average diameter to number average diameter of 2.0 or less.

A process for preparing polymer emulsion particles having pores therein, an outside diameter D of 0.1 to 5.0[ , an inside diameter d of 0.05 to 4.0.mu. , and a ratio (d/D) of 0.1 to 0.9 in dry condition, comprising the steps of forming core-shell emulsion particles from specific monomers by two-emulsion polymerizations, and swelling the core of the particles with water by hydrolyzing the vinyl acetate part of polymer (A), thereby inducing the hydroxyl groups therein, e.g., using an acidic material or a basic material at 50.degree. to 100.degree. C. The particles when use as a pigment in coating compositions provide excellent converage rate, brightness, gloss and water resistance.
