An electrode includes an electrically conductive matrix containing a disulfide group, wherein an S&#x2014;S bond of the disulfide group is cleaved by electrochemical reduction and reformed by electrochemical oxidation. A plurality of carbon nanotubes are substantially disentangled and dispersed in the electrically conductive matrix. The electrode can be used as a cathode of a lithium battery. A method for producing disentangled carbon nanotubes includes the steps of: adding a plurality of aggregates of carbon nanotubes to a liquid; and providing sheer force (e.g. passing the liquid through a narrow gap at a high speed) onto the liquid for disentangling the aggregates of carbon nanotubes therein.

Lithium battery and electrode

An electrode includes an electrically conductive matrix containing a disulfide group, wherein an S&mdash;S bond of the disulfide group is cleaved by electrochemical reduction and reformed by electrochemical oxidation. A plurality of carbon nanotubes is dispersed in the electrically conductive matrix. The electrode can be used as a cathode of a lithium battery.

A method for producing a polymer electrolyte membrane is disclosed. A liquid medium is introduced into a cylinder having an inner surface having a cylindrical configuration. The liquid medium has at least one percent by weight of a polymer electrolyte and a solvent having a boiling point or an azeotropic point ranging from 60 to 220&deg; C. Subsequently, the cylinder is rotated for evaporating the solvent by means of a centrifugal force created by such rotation so as to form a polymer electrolyte membrane having a cylindrical configuration with a substantially uniform thickness on the inner surface of the cylinder. Onto the inner surface of the polymer electrolyte membrane, a catalytic layer containing a catalytic particle may be formed.

Method for producing polymer electrolyte membrane and fuel cell

A piston ring developed to prevent aluminum deposition and adhesion thereon is disclosed. The piston ring includes a ring-shaped piston ring main body including upper, lower, outer circumferential surfaces. An anti-abrasion surface treatment layer is formed on at least the lower surface of the main body, and a polybenzimidazole resin coating film including a solid lubricant, is formed on a surface of the anti-abrasion surface treatment layer.
