An exhaust device for an engine is disposed beneath a loading platform at a position rearwardly of a seat of a utility vehicle. A plurality of exhaust pipes extend rearwardly from a front surface of an engine main body by way of one lateral side of the engine main body. The plurality of the exhaust pipes are collected by a single collecting tube. An exhaust conduit extends from the collecting tube in a direction rearwardly of the engine. A muffler is disposed in a rear portion of the vehicle and fluid connected with a downstream end of the exhaust conduit. The exhaust pipes, the collecting tube and the exhaust conduit are covered by a covering. The covering is fitted to the exhaust pipes and the exhaust conduit to thereby suppress a heat conduction from the exhaust pipes, the collecting tube and the exhaust conduit.

An exhaust system for discharging exhaust gases through an exhaust passageway, emitted from a multi-cylinder combustion engine mounted on a motor vehicle includes a partition plate formed therein for dividing the exhaust passageway into a plurality of juxtaposed exhaust passages and having a communicating hole defined therein, and an exhaust gas sensor positioned at a location in proximity of the communicating hole for detecting a composition of the exhaust gases.

An exhaust system for a motorcycle provided with a multicylinder engine, includes an exhaust aggregating member for unifying a pair of exhaust passages, through which an exhaust gas exhausted from the engine is transported to a muffler, so as to form a single exhaust passage therein. The single exhaust passage is connected to the muffler without being merged with another exhaust passage. The exhaust system also includes an exhaust control valve incorporated into the exhaust aggregating member and capable of changing sectional area of the single exhaust passage formed in the exhaust aggregating member.

The exhaust apparatus includes a plurality of exhaust path forming members constituting an exhaust path from an exhaust port of an engine to an inlet of an exhaust muffler and connected to each other. Disclosed is an exhaust purification device in which an entire length of an outer cylinder of a catalyst can be used effectively for exhaust purification and it is possible to prevent heat in fixing of the catalyst to an exhaust pipe from affecting a connection portion between the outer cylinder and catalyst main bodies. A catalyst includes an outer cylinder and a plurality of catalyst main bodies provided in the outer cylinder in a state of being spaced each other in a direction of an axial center of the outer cylinder. An outer face of the outer cylinder positioned between the catalyst main bodies is a fixed face to be fixed to an inside of the exhaust pipe.

Exhaust purification device

An air intake structure in a motorcycle having a body frame including a hollow head member in its front wall with an air inlet opening and supporting a steering shaft and paired hollow main frame members extending rearward from the head member on right and left sides of the motorcycle. The structure includes an air cleaner disposed behind the head member, an inlet duct having an open front end and an open rear end, an intake duct in the hollow main frame member, respectively having a front part extended toward the head member in the hollow main frame member and having an open front end, and a rear part connected to the air cleaner. An air passage defined by the intake duct has a sectional area increased downstream with respect to the direction of air flow. The intake ducts are internally provided with straightening plate, respectively.

Air intake structure for motorcycle

A fan guard of an outdoor unit comprises an outer frame, a plurality of radiating ribs , and a plurality of annular ribs . The outer frame is disposed around the outer circumference of a lid member that is an air conditioner discharge port. The plurality of radiating ribs are formed such that they radiate in the outer radial direction from the vicinity of the center of the outer frame to the outer frame , and are curved in the rotational direction of a ventilation fan. The plurality of annular ribs are integral with the radiating ribs , are concentrically disposed at a predetermined spacing in the radial direction around the center of the rotational axis of the ventilation fan, and are formed such that at least those in an outer circumference are slanted toward the outer radial direction to follow the flow of the air blown from the ventilation fan.
