According to one embodiment, a stator includes a stator core with slots, and multi-phase segment coils each including coil segments each including a first linear part and a second linear part arranged in different slots and a bridge part, the coil segment formed of a rectangular conductor. An innermost coil segment in the slot is structured with divided segments adhered together. Each divided segment includes a first linear part and a second linear part, and a bridge part, and is formed of a rectangular conductor cross-sectional area of which is smaller than the rectangular conductor of other coil segments. The bridge parts of the divided segments are arranged to cross each other in the radial direction.

At least a flux barrier of a barrier region provided at an outermost circumferential surface side is filled with a nonmagnetic conductive material. A barrier-side edge on a side of the central axis, which defines the flux barrier of the barrier region provided in an outermost circumferential surface side is located within a range of 0.55&#x3c;2a/R&#x3c;0.84.

The rotor core is fixed to the shaft, in which cavity portions being formed in a projected shape toward a radially inward direction are formed into multilayers for each pole and bridges are respectively formed between the cavity portions and an outer circumferential surface. The thickness of an outermost bridge positioned outermost on the pole end side among the plurality of bridges is formed to be gradually thicker from the pole center side toward the pole end side. Among the plurality of bridges, the thickness of an intermediate bridge positioned on the pole center side of the outermost bridge with one bridge interposed therebetween is formed to be gradually thicker from the pole end side toward the pole center side.

A synchronous reluctance type rotary electric machine of an embodiment includes a shaft, a rotor core, rotor core pressers, a plurality of conductor bars, and short-circuit rings. The shaft rotates around a rotation axis. The rotor core is fixed to the shaft and includes multi-layered hollow parts having a convex shape toward a radially inward side formed for each pole in cross section. The rotor core pressers hold the rotor core by pressing the rotor core from both sides in a rotation axis direction. The plurality of conductor bars are disposed in the hollow parts to extend along the rotation axis and have both ends protruding through the rotor core pressers. The short-circuit rings are provided at both ends of each of the plurality of conductor bars and connect the plurality of conductor bars together. Thus, the conductor bars are fixed to the rotor core pressers.

A synchronous reluctance type rotary electric machine of an embodiment has a rotor core. The rotor core includes a plurality of poles, multi-layered hollow parts having a convex shape toward a side radially inward formed for each pole in cross section, and a bridge formed between each of the hollow parts and an outer circumferential surface thereof. When a boundary between two adjacent poles is a pole boundary, a groove is formed on at least one of both sides sandwiching the pole boundary at positions other than on the pole boundary on the outer circumferential surface of the rotor core.

A synchronous reluctance type rotary electric machine of an embodiment includes, a rotor core, a plurality of conductor bars, short-circuit rings, a stator core, and multiphase armature windings. The rotor core includes multi-layered hollow parts having a convex shape toward a side radially inward formed for each pole in cross section, and a bridge formed between each of the hollow parts and an outer circumferential surface thereof. The plurality of conductor bars are disposed in the respective hollow parts. The short-circuit rings connect the plurality of conductor bars together. Then, in all of the hollow parts of a second layer and subsequent layers other than the hollow part of a first layer which is at a position farthest from the rotation axis of the rotor core, the conductor bars are disposed at both end portions thereof close to the bridge at a predetermined distance from the bridge.

According to one embodiment, a rotor includes a shaft and a rotor core. A plurality of flux barriers are formed at the rotor core. The flux barrier has a plurality of bridges, and one or more barrier regions. When a width of the bridge of a first flux barrier is defined as w, a width of the bridge of a second flux barrier is defined as w, a value obtained by dividing a radius of a smallest circle that is tangent to a central line of the first flux barrier by an outer radius of the rotor core is defined as a, and a value obtained by dividing a radius of a smallest circle that is tangent to a central line of the second flux barrier by the outer radius of the rotor core is defined as b, and when f(x)=(1&#x2212;x{circumflex over (&#x2003;)}2){circumflex over (&#x2003;)}(3/2) and g(x)=(1&#x2212;x{circumflex over (&#x2003;)}3), a relationship of f(b)/f(a)&#x2264;w/w&#x2264;g(b)/g(a) is satisfied.

Rotor and reluctance motor

A synchronous reluctance rotary electric machine of an embodiment includes a shaft and a rotor core. The shaft rotates around a rotation axis. The rotor core is fixed to the shaft, includes four layers of hollow parts having a convex shape toward a radially inner side formed for each pole in cross section, and includes bridges between the respective hollow parts and an outer circumferential surface thereof. Then, in each pole, when a center in a circumferential direction is a pole center, both ends in the circumferential direction are pole ends, and the plurality of bridges are a first layer bridge, a second layer bridge, a third layer bridge, and a fourth layer bridge in order from the pole center toward each of the pole ends, a circumferential width between the second layer bridge and the third layer bridge is set to be greater than a circumferential width between the first layer bridge and the second layer bridge and a circumferential width between the third layer bridge and the fourth layer bridge.

According to one embodiment, an induction motor includes a stator and a rotor. The stator has a stator coil disposed at a stator core having a plurality of stator slots. The rotor has a rotor core rotatably provided with respect to the stator. The rotor core includes a plurality of rotor teeth and a rotor slot formed between the plurality of rotor teeth and having a rotor conductor disposed therein. The rotor teeth include a teeth main body and a flange. The teeth main body extends in a radial direction of the rotor core. The flange extends in a rotating direction of the rotor core from a distal end of the teeth main body. Then, a recessed surface is formed on at least part of an outer circumferential surface of a radial outer side in the flange.
