A vessel manufacturing method includes placing a bag-shaped, film-based vessel on a placement stage with concave portions formed on the stage, introducing fluid into the vessel placed on the stage, and pressing the vessel which is placed on the stage, by a pressing member while heating at least one of the stage and the pressing member. A cell culture vessel is also provided which includes a first vessel wall as a bottom wall and a second vessel wall. The first vessel wall is formed of a flat film having gas permeability. The second vessel wall is disposed in contact with a peripheral edge portion of the first vessel wall, and has a bulge shape protruding relative to the first vessel wall. The first vessel wall is flat at its section other than a region where the first vessel wall is in contact with at least a charge/discharge port.

A wafer loading apparatus capable of making a temperature distribution in a surface of a wafer more uniform is provided. The wafer loading apparatus includes a stage on which a wafer is loaded, and a heater installed in the stage to heat a wafer loaded on a loading surface of the stage. The stage includes a top plate providing the loading surface. The heater includes first heater coils disposed on a surface of the top plate opposite to the loading surface, electrode portions electrically connected to the first heater coils and arranged side by side along an outer peripheral portion of the top plate, and a second heater coil disposed outside the first heater coils. The second heater coil generates heat in such a way that a heat distribution in a circumferential direction is varied corresponding to the arrangement of the electrode portions.

This invention is intended to identify a gene that regulates endoreduplication in a plant and to use such gene for breeding aimed at increasing the crop size. This invention provides a gene encoding an-derived protein having an amino acid sequence as shown in SEQ ID NO: 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, or 12, which has endoreduplication promoting activity, a transgenic plant into which such gene has been introduced, thereby increasing the nuclear DNA content in the cells of such plant, and a method of using such gene to increase the size of the entire plant or a part thereof.

A surface acoustic wave device includes a first filter and a second filter, each of them being a surface acoustic wave (SAW) filter including an odd number of at least three InterDigital Transducers (IDTs); an unbalanced terminal to which an unbalanced signal is input; a first balanced terminal from which a signal having a same phase as the unbalanced signal is output; and a second balanced terminal from which a signal having an opposite phase to the unbalanced signal is output. Surface acoustic wave device

A multi-link engine has a piston coupled to a crankshaft to move inside an engine cylinder. A piston pin connects the piston to an upper link, which is connected to a lower link by an upper link pin. A crank pin of the crankshaft rotatably supports the lower link thereon. A control link pin connects the lower link to one end of a control link, which is connected at another end to the engine block body by a control shaft. The upper link has an upper link axis that forms an angle with the cylinder axis, as viewed along a crank axis direction of the crankshaft, such that the angle reaches a minimum when a crank angle of the engine is within a range where the bottom end of a piston skirt is positioned below a topmost part of the bottom end of the cylinder liner.

Multi-link engine

A multi-link engine has a piston coupled to a crankshaft to move inside an engine cylinder. A piston pin connects the piston to an upper link, which is connected to a lower link by an upper link pin. A crank pin of the crankshaft rotatably supports the lower link thereon. A control link pin connects the lower link to one end of a control link, which is connected at another end to the engine block body by a control shaft. The crank pin has a center arranged on a straight line joining centers of the upper link pin and the control link pin such that an angle formed between the straight line and a horizontal axis that is perpendicular to a center axis of the cylinder and that passes through an axial center of a crank journal is the same for at top dead center and at bottom dead center.

A multi link type piston-crank mechanism comprises an upper link that has one end pivotally connected to a piston of the engine through a piston pin, a lower link that is pivotally connected to the other end of the upper link through an upper pin and rotatably disposed on a crank pin of a crankshaft of the engine; and a control link that has a base end part swingably held by a body of the engine and a leading end pivotally connected to the lower link through a control pin. An axis of the piston pin is offset relative to an axis of the piston in thrust and counter thrust directions. When the piston comes to BDC, a part of the piston takes a position below a lower edge of a corresponding cylinder of the engine and the upper pin is offset relative to the axis of the piston pin in the same direction as a pin offset direction in which the axis of the piston pin is offset in the thrust and counter thrust directions relative to the axis of the piston.

Internal combustion engine

A multi-link engine has a piston that moves inside a cylinder. A piston pin connects the piston to an upper link, which is connected to a lower link. A crank pin of a crankshaft supports the lower link thereon. The lower link is pivotally connected to one end of a control link, which is connected at another end to the engine block body by a control shaft. The control shaft is lower than a crank journal of the crankshaft, and disposed on a first side of a plane that is parallel to a cylinder center axis and that contains a center rotational axis of the crank journal. The cylinder center axis is located on a second (i.e., opposite the first side) plane. The control link has a center axis that is parallel to the cylinder center axis when the piston is near top and bottom dead centers.

A piston-crank mechanism links crankpins of a crankshaft with piston pins of pistons by using a plurality of links. The piston-crank mechanism allows an upward inertia force produced near a top dead center of each piston to be smaller than a downward inertia force produced near a bottom dead center of the piston in order to reduce secondary vibration occurring during operation. In a four-cycle inline four-cylinder internal combustion engine, a total force of inertia forces exerted from adjacent cylinders to each of second and fourth crankshaft bearings becomes a downward force, which reinforces a downward force produced in response to combustion pressure. These second and fourth crankshaft bearings have a rigidity higher than the remaining crankshaft bearings.

A crankshaft mechanism is disclosed that takes advantage of component makeup and orientation to cancel out inertial force. A crankshaft of the crankshaft mechanism includes at least one counterweight that is arranged in combination with the rest of the mechanism to cancel out the inertial force particularly at a timing in front of a bottom dead center of a piston where the inertial force becomes a maximum.

An internal combustion engine includes a piston () and a crankshaft (). As a result, the bottom dead center position of the piston can be lowered, and the overall height of the engine can be decreased.
