The heating apparatus includes a heating roller having a heat source inside, an end holder in which a portion of the heat source is disposed, the end holder holding an axial end of the heating roller rotatably, and an air supply device configured to supply air into the end holder in a direction intersecting with an axial direction of the heating roller. The heating apparatus includes a heating roller having a heat source inside, and an end holder in which a portion of the heat source is disposed, the end holder rotatably holding an axial end of the heating roller. In the heating apparatus, the end holder has an air inlet opening through which air is supplied into the end holder and an air outlet opening through which air is ejected outside from inside the end holder.

A liquid discharge apparatus includes a discharge device, a driving device, processing circuitry, and a reading device. The discharge device discharges liquid to a recording medium to form a test pattern. The driving device causes the discharge device to discharge the liquid according to a driving waveform. The processing circuitry inputs a plurality of driving waveforms and acquires first data indicating a standard pattern that corresponds to the driving waveform and is formed with the driving waveform or indicating a parameter of the standard pattern. The reading device reads the test pattern to generate second data. The processing circuitry compares the second data with the first data and selects a driving waveform generating a smallest difference between the second data and the first data, based on a result of comparison of the second data with the first data.

In a refrigeration cycle device including a compressor, first and second coolers configured to cool first and second storage compartments at least, respectively, and a mixer configured to mix refrigerants that have passed through the first and second coolers, a refrigerant flow path is switched so that refrigerants of first and second flow rates are circulated to the first and second coolers, respectively, while the first and second storage compartments are being cooled, and a refrigerant flow path is switched so that a refrigerant of a specific flow rate, which is smaller than a first flow rate but is not zero, is circulated to the first cooler after cooling of the first storage compartment is completed.

A crankshaft of an in-line, four-cylinder internal combustion engine has five journal portions. The journal portions are each supported by a main bearing unit. Each of the main bearing units includes a cylinder block side bearing part and a bearing cap. The No., No., No.and No.main bearing units employ an iron-based bearing cap, and the No.main bearing unit at the center employs a bearing cap made of an aluminum alloy having a relatively high thermal expansion coefficient. At high temperatures, the bearing clearance of the No.main bearing unit is configured to expand so as to reduce bearing load.
