There is provided a lens unit equipped with multiple focus lenses provided inside a lens barrel, multiple actuators corresponding to the respective multiple focus lenses and configured to move each of the multiple focus lenses inside the lens barrel, and a control circuit configured to control movement of the multiple focus lenses according to different rules between a case of a position of each of the multiple focus lenses being inside a designated range of satisfactory optical performance, and a case of being outside the range.

A zoom lens comprises, in order from the object side: a first lens group that has a positive refractive power; a second lens group that has a negative refractive power; and a third lens group that has a positive refractive power. Zooming is performed by changing spaces between the first to third lens groups during zooming from a wide-angle end to a telephoto end. The third lens group includes, in order from the object side, a positive lens group, having a positive refractive power, and a negative lens group, disposed to be close to the image side thereof and having a negative refractive power, with an air gap, which is widest in the third lens group, interposed therebetween. The present invention is directed to provide an enhanced variable power zoom lens that has focusing lens optics reduced in weight so as to relieve of a load on a focusing drive system, and that has its anti-vibration lens optics reduced in both diameter and weight so as to relieve of a load on an anti-vibration drive system and downsize the same. Enhanced variable power zoom lens

An enhanced variable power zoom lens is lightweight in whole and in part, especially, having its focusing lens optics reduced in weight so as to relieve of a load on a focusing drive system, and having its anti-vibration lens optics reduced in both diameter and weight so as to relieve of a load on an anti-vibration drive system and downsize the same. The zoom lens has the foremost or first lens group of positive refractivity, the second lens group of negative refractivity, the third lens group of positive refractivity, the fourth lens group of negative refractivity, and the fifth lens group arranged in sequence from a position closer to the object. Disclosed herein is a zoom lens formed by arranging a first lens group having a negative refractive power, a second lens group having a positive refractive power, and a third lens group having a positive refractive power in order from an object side to an image side, wherein at a time of varying power from a wide-angle end to a telephoto end, the first lens group is moved and the second lens group is moved to the object side integrally with a diaphragm such that an air interval between the first lens group and the second lens group is decreased and such that an air interval between the second lens group and the third lens group is increased.

Zoom lens and image pickup device
