A gas sensor including: a gas detection element; a metal shell extending in an axial direction; and a metal cylinder extending in an axial direction, wherein a leading end portion of the metal cylinder surrounds a base end portion of the metal shell and is fixed to the metal shell via a circumferential welded portion. The metal shell includes: Fe in an amount equal to or more than 50.0 mass %; C in an amount of 0.02 mass % to 0.15 mass %; Cr in an amount of 11.5 mass % to 18.0 mass %; and Nb in an amount equal to or more than twice amount of C in mass %.

Gas sensor

An oil agent of the kind and amount suitable for a post-step is applied on a workpiece regardless of the kind and residual amount of an oil agent used in a pre-step. A workpiece on which a first oil agent is deposited is immersed in a degreasing solution, taken out of the degreasing solution and cleaned to thereby remove all the first oil agent. Then, the workpiece having all the first oil agent removed is immersed in an oil agent solution to thereby newly deposit a second oil agent of the kind and amount suitable for a post-step on the workpiece.

Method for depositing oil agent on workpiece

An oxygen sensorincludes an oxygen detection element, which assumes a hollow tubular shape extending along the axis. The oxygen detection elementhas a closed tip end and an opened rear end. An internal electrode layeris formed on an inner circumferential surfaceof the oxygen detection element. The sensoralso has a terminal memberwhich is in contact with the internal electrode layerand in electrical connection therewith. The terminal memberhas press contact portionsandwhich come into press contact with the inner circumferential surfaceof the oxygen detection elementto hold the terminal memberin the oxygen detection element, and conduction portionswhich come into press contact with the internal electrode layeron the inner circumferential surfaceof the oxygen detection elementand into electrical connection with the internal electrode layer.
