A method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display device of the instant application includes a first substrate preparing step of preparing a first substrate including a plurality of source lines and a plurality of gate lines; a second substrate preparing step of preparing a second substrate including a color filter; and a substrate bonding step of bonding the first substrate and the second substrate together using a first seal member. In the substrate bonding step, the first seal member is disposed in a manner that at least a part of the first seal member overlaps the color filter in plan view.

Method for manufacturing liquid crystal display device

Provided is a liquid crystal display device in which uneven brightness in a side-light type backlight unit is reduced, the uneven brightness being generated through reflection of light from a light source at an interface of an engaging cutout portion for preventing a light guide plate from shifting. A light guide plate () includes a cutout portion () through which a light guide plate support pin () provided upright to a lower frame fitting is inserted, at a lower side adjacent to a left side at which a light bar () is arranged. Further, at the lower side, a cutout portion () having a shallower recess than that of the cutout portion () and positioned in front of the cutout portion () when viewed from the light bar () is provided.

Liquid crystal display device

A reflection sheet is made of material having a coefficient of thermal expansion different from that of an LED substrate. A fixing member and a retaining member extend through the reflection sheet and the LED substrate so as to fix the reflection sheet and the LED substrate. The reflection sheet includes a fixing hole into which the fixing member is inserted, a retaining hole into which the retaining member is inserted, and LED holes within which light emitting diodes are disposed, respectively. Retaining of the reflection sheet by the retaining member has, compared to fixing of the reflection sheet by the fixing member, a higher degree of freedom of movement in a direction along a surface of the reflection sheet. The LED holes located in positions far from the fixing hole are larger than the LED holes located in positions close to the fixing hole.

Provided is a liquid crystal display device including: a liquid crystal display panel; a fluorescent tube disposed on a side opposite to a display surface of the liquid crystal display panel; an electrode holder for retaining the fluorescent tube; a frame to which the electrode holder is attached; a light reflection cover including one of a hole and a notch for allowing the fluorescent tube to pass therethrough, the light reflection cover covering a part of the fluorescent tube and an area of the frame on an outer side of the fluorescent tube; and an elastic body provided on the light reflection cover so as to face the fluorescent tube in a non-contact manner.
