A seat back includes a back board serving as a decorative plate on a rear side of the seat back, a back frame that is configured to support a seated person, a back pad that is disposed at a front side the back frame, is configured to supports the seated person, and has elasticity, an intermediate board that is interposed between a peripheral edge of the back pad and a peripheral edge of the back board, and a back cover that is disposed over the back pad and the intermediate board.

Seat back

A vehicle seat includes: a seat back configured to be coupled with a vehicle body and to have backrest angle adjustable with respect to the vehicle body; a support shaft that is attached to the seat back and extends in a seat width direction an armrest that is coupled with the seat back to be pivotable about the support shaft and allowed to be pivotally extracted from the seat back to be in an extracted position and retracted to the seat back to be in a retracted position; and an extracted position retaining mechanism that retains the armrest in the extracted position when the armrest is extracted from the seat back to limit an angle of the armrest with respect to the vehicle body to be in a predetermined range while the backrest angle of the seat back is changed.

Vehicle seat

A recliner has a ratchet and a guide assembled together so as to be rotatable relative to each other, and a pawl supported by the guide in its circumferential direction. The pawl has an outer tooth row adapted to mesh with a part of an inner tooth row of the ratchet so as to inhibit rotational movement of the ratchet relative to the guide. The outer tooth row of the pawl is meshed with the inner tooth row of the ratchet such that only two adjacent tooth flanks located in a center of the outer tooth row in the circumferential direction are in contact with the inner tooth row, and at least one of adjacent two tooth flanks of the outer tooth row located at positions other than the center in the circumferential direction is received in the inner tooth row without being in contact with the inner tooth row.

Recliner

In a vehicle seat that includes a seat cushion, a seatback that is rotatably attached to the seat cushion, and a spring that urges the seatback to a raised upright position from a reclined position in which the seatback is tilted back behind the seat cushion, the spring is spiral shaped, with a center-side end portion that is arranged near the rotational center of the seatback hooked on a seatback-connected member and an outside end portion that is positioned on the outer peripheral side of the spring hooked on a seat cushion-connected member. A shield member that covers the spring is attached to the seat cushion.

A seat frame reinforcement structure has a reinforcing member that is provided between both side frames that constitute a framework of a seatback of a vehicle seat, is connected to the side frames, and extends in the width direction of the vehicle seat. The reinforcing member includes a rod that is larger in diameter than each of operation pins that pass through center portions of reclining mechanisms, bushings that are connected to respective end portions of the rod, and a guide member that is connected integrally to the side frame so as to surround the outer periphery of a portion of the operation pin, which is exposed due to a clearance formed between an end portion of one of the bushings and the side frame. Due to the provision of the guide member, the diameter of the reinforcing member is maintained large even in a region where there is the clearance.

Seat frame reinforcement structure

A seat for a vehicle has an upper panel provided integrally with a seat back which can be tilted forward and rearward by operating an operation lever for reclining use. At a first operation position of an operation lever for walk-in use, the operation lever for walk-in use is interlocked with the operation lever for reclining use through a linking arm to tilt the upper panel urged by a spring forward. A projected piece mounted on the upper panel contacts a slide-unlocking lever and operates the slide-unlocking lever to rotate in an unlocking direction. Thereby slide locking of the seat for the vehicle is released. At a second operation position of the operation lever for walk-in use, the slide-unlocking lever is operated directly by a linking plate. Thereby the slide locking of the seat for the vehicle is released.

Seat for vehicle

A reclining mechanism for a vehicle seat includes first and second attachment members coupled with each other at their outer peripheries and connected by a hinge pin, a slide pawl slidably mounted within one of the attachment members, and a cam element mounted on the hinge pin in a space between the attachment members. The cam element is engaged with the slide pawl to maintain engagement with the ratchet portion of the attachment member when the hinge pin is retained in a torsion spring load position. This construction permits relative rotation of the attachment members for adjustment of an inclined angle of a backrest. In the reclining mechanism, a thrust member is coupled with one of the attachment members and welded to a frame structure of the back rest allowing the device to be assembled as a unit.
