A temperature adjustment mechanism for a vehicle includes a battery-applied pump and circulation paths, and adjusts a temperature of a battery chargeable from an external power supply outside the vehicle to be within a predetermined temperature range. The temperature adjustment mechanism further includes a vacuum insulation tank in which either cold water generated by a cold energy source or hot water heated by a hot energy source is stored according to an ambient temperature during charging of the battery from the external power supply. At a time of input and output of electric power in the battery excluding a charge from the external power supply, the vacuum insulation tank is connected to the circulation paths, the cold water or the hot water stored in the vacuum insulation tank is supplied to the battery by driving the battery-applied pump, and a battery temperature is kept within the temperature range.

A waste heat utilization device for a vehicle, said waste heat utilization device being provided with a Rankine cycle system and comprising: a motor-generator that is connected to an expander and is structured so as to be able to rotate integrally with the expander; a clutch device that is provided between the expander and a power transmission system of the vehicle; and a clutch control unit that is structured so as to control switching of the clutch device between a connected state and a disconnected state.

An operation system for a piston-type expander includes: a first engaging member which is fixed to an output shaft of the piston-type expander, rotates together with the output shaft, and has a first slanting surface; a second engaging member which is rotatably disposed on the output shaft, and has a second slanting surface; and a drive device which, while keeping a rotation direction of the second engaging member around the output shaft fixed, moves the second engaging member in an axial direction of the output shaft to press the second slanting surface onto the first slanting surface, converts a pressing force of the second engaging member in the axial direction into a rotational torque of the first engaging member and the output shaft at a contact surface of the first and second slanting surfaces, and causes the first engaging member to rotate together with the output shaft.

A rotor structure for a rotary electric machine in which an inner surface of a hollow rotor core and an outer surface of a shaft inserted into a hole of the rotor core are fitted together by mutual engagement between a projection and a recess to compose a rotor, the rotor structure including: a first retainer brought into contact with one end of the rotor core; and a second retainer brought into contact with a surface of the first retainer opposite to a surface in contact with the rotor core so as to fix the first retainer and the rotor core to the shaft, wherein a coefficient of static friction of a first sliding surface between the first retainer and the second retainer is smaller than any other sliding surface provided in the rotor.

Rotor structure for rotary electric machine

Connected in parallel to an expander and a condenser of a Rankine cycle are n sets each including a different expander and a different condenser. Devices are provided for stopping operations of the expanders in sets connected in parallel, and a pressure sensor and a temperature sensor are installed respectively in an inlet and outlet of an evaporator. An electronic control unit sets or releases at least one of the operation stopping devices such that a measured value of the temperature sensor reaches a prescribed temperature value which is equal to or less than a thermal decomposition temperature of a refrigerant and which is set in advance, and the electronic control unit controls a rotational speed of a refrigerant pump such that a measured value of the pressure sensor reaches a prescribed pressure value set in advance.

Waste heat recovering device

A steam engine in which a liquid and a steam are jetted so that a rotor is turned by the reaction thereof, and the rotor having a well-balanced simple structure. In the steam engine, the rotorhaving a plurality of bent flow pathsA toD arranged at regular intervals therein is rotatably supported in a closed containerfilled with the liquid being fitted onto a boss portionof the closed container. The boss portionis alternately forming slide-contact portionsA having a steam feed port and recessed portionsB. The steam fed into the bent flow pathfrom the steam feed port causes the liquid in the flow path to be jetted outward to rotate the rotor. The rotoris of a point-symmetrical shape in cross section free of unbalanced weight, has no moving part, and is simple in structure. When the bent flow pathcommunicates with the recessed portionB, the steam remaining in the flow path is cooled and disappears, and the flow path is filled with the liquid.

Steam-jet engine

In an engine, a rotor having a folded jet pipe is rotatably supported in a sealed container filled with a liquid. A heating portion is inserted in a center cylinder at the center of the rotor, and a fluid of a high temperature is passed therethrough to vaporize the liquid sucked through the suction pipe of the rotor. A mixture of steam and liquid is jetted from the jet pipe due to the pressure of the steam that is vaporized to rotate the rotor. A check valve for jetting and a check valve for suction are disposed at the ends of the jet pipe and the suction pipe. The jetted steam is guided to a condenser disposed on the sealed container, and is condensed and is refluxed into the sealed container. A vacuum pump is connected to the condenser, and the pressure in the sealed container is held at the saturated steam pressure.

Jet-type steam engine

A steam engine of a simple constitution capable of efficiently obtaining mechanical energy not only from a heat source of a high temperature but also from various heat sources in a low-temperature state such as the exhaust heat of an internal combustion engine. The engine comprises a displacement enginehaving a rotorthat rotates, a steam-generating portionarranged thereunder and a condenserarranged thereover. Water heated in the steam-generating portionbecomes the steam which is fed into the displacement engine, enters into an operation chamber that moves up, rotates the rotorand is, thereafter, fed into the condenserwhere it is condensed to turn into the condensate. The condensate falls on the rotoron the lower side due to gravity, and is refluxed into the steam-generating portionthrough the operation chamber that moves downward with rotation of the rotor. The steam engine efficiently operates even at low speeds, requires no pump for refluxing the condensate, and is constituted in a compact size.

Proportional solenoid and flow control valve employing thereof

A simply constituted steam engine efficiently obtains mechanical energy not only from a heat source of a high temperature but also from the exhaust heat of an internal combustion engine and various kinds of heat sources of a low-temperature state such as the solar heat. In the engine, a rotor () having a folded jet pipe () is rotatably supported in a sealed container () filled with a liquid. A heating portion () is inserted in a center cylinder () at the center of the rotor, and a fluid of a high temperature is passed therethrough to vaporize the liquid sucked through the suction pipe () of the rotor (). A mixture of steam and liquid is jetted from the jet pipe () due to the pressure of the steam that is vaporized to rotate the rotor (). A check valve () for jetting and a check valve () for suction are disposed at the ends of the jet pipe () and the suction pipe (). The jetted steam is guided to a condenser () disposed on the sealed container (), and is condensed and is refluxed into the sealed container (). A vacuum pump () is connected to the condenser (), and the pressure in the sealed container is held at the saturated steam pressure.

A reflector has a curved part covering the light source and a pair of end parts extending at the two sides of the curved part. The inside surface of each end part has a plurality of substantially parallel projections or depressions. The light-guiding plate has an incident surface and an emission surface substantially perpendicular to the incident surface, the incident surface having a plurality of projections or depressions extending substantially parallel to the emission surface.
