A liquid ejecting method for ejecting liquid by generation of a bubble includes preparing a head comprising an ejection outlet for ejecting the liquid, a bubble generation region for generating the bubble in the liquid, a movable member disposed faced to the bubble generation region and displaceable between a first position and a second position further from the bubble generation region than the first position; and displacing the movable member from the first position to the second position by pressure produced by the generation of the bubble in the bubble generating portion to permit expansion of the bubble more in a downstream side nearer to the ejection outlet than in an upstream side.

A liquid ejecting head for ejecting liquid by generation of bubble includes an ejection outlet for ejecting the liquid; a liquid path in fluid communication with the ejection outlet; a bubble generation region for generating the bubble in the liquid; a movable member having a fulcrum and a free end and disposed faced to the bubble generation region; wherein the movable member moves from the first position to the second position by pressure produced by the generation of the bubble, and a resistance against movement of the movable member, is smaller adjacent the free end than adjacent the fulcrum.

A method produces a liquid ejecting head having an ejection outlet for ejecting a liquid, a heat generating element for applying thermal energy to the liquid, a liquid flow path having a first path portion in fluid communication with the ejection outlet and a second path portion disposed below the first path portion and provided with the heat generating element in a bottom surface thereof, a partition wall for partitioning the liquid flow path into the first path portion and second path portion, and a movable member disposed above the heat generating element in the portion wall and arranged as displaceable to a side of the first path portion in accordance with a bubble generated in the liquid by the thermal energy in which upon generation of the bubble the first path portion and the second path portion are in fluid communication with each other and the pressure is directed toward the ejection outlet by the movable member displaced to eject the liquid droplet. The method includes a step of preparing a substrate provided with the heat generating element, a step of forming a grooved partition wall having the movable member and side walls of the second path portion, and a step of joining the grooved partition wall to the substrate to form the second path portion.

Method for producing liquid ejecting head and liquid ejecting head obtained by the same method

A liquid ejecting head ejects liquid by generating a bubble. The head includes a first liquid flow path for direct fluid communication between a first common liquid chamber and an ejection outlet, a second liquid flow path having a heat generating element for applying heat to the liquid to generate a bubble in the liquid, and a supply path for supplying the liquid to above the heat generating element from an upstream side of the heat generating element in a direction along the heat generating element. A movable member is disposed between the first and second flow paths, faces the heat generating element, and is displaced to a side of the first liquid flow path because of pressure generated when the heat generating element is driven, and has a fulcrum and a free end located downstream of the fulcrum. A guide path is provided in which the liquid flows above the heat generating element in the second liquid flow path.

Liquid ejecting method with movable member

An ink container includes a casing, an air vent which is located in the casing, an ink supply opening for supplying ink out of the casing, and an ink absorbing material that is contained in the casing. The ink absorbing material retains ink therein, and has a generally rectangular parallelopipedal shape defined by sides of the ink absorbing material, and also has an ink supply portion for supplying ink to the ink supply opening. The ink absorbing material includes corner portions which are located between adjacent sides of the ink absorbing material. A preventing means prevents complete surface contact between the casing and said ink absorbing material by providing spaces between the casing and ink absorbing material which are in fluid communication with each other with a given space that is adjacent to a particular one of the corner portions that is most remote from the ink supply portion. The air vent is in fluid communication with the spaces.

A liquid ejecting head capable of ejecting liquids in different conditions includes an ejection outlet for ejecting a liquid; a liquid flow path for supplying the liquid to the ejection outlet, the liquid flow path having bubble generation heat elements used to eject the liquid and capable of selectively generating bubbles having different sizes; and a movable mechanism having at least one movable member arranged to face a bubble generation region formed in the liquid flow path by the bubble generation heat elements. The movable member has a free end on a downstream side with respect to a direction of the ejection outlet and a supporting member on an upstream side. The movable member is displaced in a direction to separate from the bubble generation region in accordance with a bubble generated by the bubble generation heat elements.

A method for discharging ink from a discharge port using a liquid jet recording head having the discharge port for discharging liquid, a liquid flow path communicating with the discharge port, a liquid discharge heat generating element provided in the liquid flow path to apply thermal energy for discharging the liquid to the liquid with bubble generation and a fluid resistance element provided upstream of the liquid discharge heat generating element in the liquid flow path. A bubble generating region is used as the fluid resistance element and a movable member is provided facing the bubble generating region and having a free end, the movable member being shiftable upon bubble generation at the region. The method includes the step of generating a bubble by driving the liquid discharge heat generating element and generating the bubble and shifting the movable member by the fluid resistance element. Also discloses are a liquid discharge head, head cartridge, and recording apparatus which perform the method.

A liquid ejecting method using a liquid ejection head having a movable member disposed faced to a bubble generating region and having a free end at a downstream side thereof with respect to a flow direction of liquid, wherein the free end of the movable member is displaced by a pressure generated by a bubble in the bubble generating region, and the pressure is directed toward an ejection outlet by the movable member to eject the liquid through the ejection outlet, the improvement residing in that: the free end of the movable member providing a substantially harmetically sealed state for the bubble generating region, is displaced so as to guide a pressure wave resulting from the bubble formation toward the ejection outlet while non-contact state is substantially maintained between the movable member and the bubble.

A liquid ejection head has a heat generating surface for generating heat for generating bubbles in liquid, the heat generating surface being substantially flush and/or smoothly continuous with an upstream surface of the heat generating surface, a portion above the upstream surface and a further upstream portion being in fluid communication with each other when the heat generating surface does not generate heat, a movable member having a free end and a fulcrum, the movable member and the heat generating surface having a space therebetween, and an ejection outlet for ejecting liquid through generation of the bubble.
