Disk apparatus having a support member

A disk drive device () comprises a body chassis () and a tray () movable relative to the body chassis (). The body chassis () is provided with a stage () at one side thereof, which is higher than the central bottom face. On the other hand, a part of the disk protective portion () of the tray (), which overlaps the stage (), is cut out at its rear end () in an arc shape. As a result, the disk protective portion () covers the whole area of a disk () and, at the same time, forms a large space between it and the front end () of the stage ().

A disk drive device includes a protective case having an upper case and a lower case. The disk drive device has a form such that the disk drive device can be inserted into and removed from a PCMCIA port of a computer. The disk drive device has an output connector located at one end of the protective case so that the input/output connector can connect with a PCMCIA connector of the computer when the disk drive device is inserted in the PCMCIA port. Information from the computer can thus be stored on the disk drive device, or information from the disk drive device can be read into the computer.

Line-scanning optical printer

A data storage device has a disk-drive motor, a head-drive motor, read/write heads, and an integrated circuit board, all mounted on a single-piece integral frame and enclosed by a casing. Each motor is mounted within a surface recess on the frame via an attachment lip integrally formed into each recess. Additionally, a bend is formed across the width of the frame. The single-piece frame, frame bend, and surface recesses provide the data storage device with significant structural rigidity and thus enhance the ability of the device to withstand the application of externally-applied forces.

Data storage device having a single-piece integral frame

The present invention employs LEDs and a liquid crystal shutter driven in synchronization with the position of the photosensitive paper, thereby eliminating image distortion even where the head of the optical printer apparatus is subjected to unanticipated load during scanning by the head. Optical printer

A structure for mounting a magnetic disk drive applicable to a mount section 12 of an equipment body having different width dimensions. The structure includes a first spacer 20 and second spacer 30. In the case where the mount section 12 coincides with a disk drive 1 in dimensional specifications, the disk drive is fixedly attached to the mount 12 by use of threaded hole 9 provided on lateral sidewalls of a disk drive chassis 5. On the contrary, when the width dimensions differ from each other to cause lateral gaps, spacers 20 and 30 are arranged on each side of the disk drive 1 to thereby adjust the dimensions for the clamping. The structure also includes two top shield covers. The particular cover selected depends upon the relative dimensions of the mount section and the disk drive.

Mounting structure for magnetic disk drive

A shutter locking mechanism for a FDD capable of securely keeping the shutter in opened state against any external impact. This mechanism comprises a pivot secured to the carrier for axially and rotatably supporting the shutter opening lever, and a projecting portion formed at the distal end of the shutter opening lever and fit to an aperture existing at the shutter opening lever contact side of the shutter in the loading position. The projecting portion enters the aperture at the right corner of the shutter in the loaded position while at the left corner claw portions of the stopper hold the shutter for preventing the distal end of the shutter opening lever from separating from the shutter.
