A production apparatus of an ashless coal includes a preheater, an extraction tank, a feed pipe, a solid-liquid separator and a solvent separator. The preheater heats a solvent. The extraction tank extracts a coal component soluble in the solvent from a slurry including a mixture of a coal and the solvent heated by the preheater. The coal feeding unit feeds the coal to the feed pipe by pressuring a feed part to the feed pipe such that the solvent does not flow back. The solid-liquid separator separates a solution part containing the coal component from the slurry. The solvent separator evaporates and separates the solvent from the solution part to obtain an ashless coal.

Ashless-coal production device, and ashless-coal production method

A method for producing a carbon material including an oxidation step of oxidizing an ashless coal, a forming step of mixing an oxidized ashless coal obtained in the oxidation step and an unoxidized ashless coal and forming a mixture thereof, and a carbonization step of carbonizing a formed body obtained in the formation step. Percentage of increase in oxygen of the oxidized ashless coal obtained in the oxidation step is from 2.0 to 10.0%. A mixing ratio of the oxidized ashless coal in the forming step is from 60 to 95 parts by mass per 100 parts by mass of a total of the oxidized ashless coal and the unoxidized ashless coal.

Carbon material production method and carbon material

Provided is an ash-free coal production method without the need to once re-liquefy and form an ash-free coal. The ash-free coal production method includes an extraction step of mixing coal with a solvent to prepare a slurry and heating the slurry to extract a solvent-soluble coal component; a separation step of separating a solution containing the solvent-soluble coal component from the slurry obtained from the extraction step; an ash-free coal obtaining step of evaporatively separating the solvent from the solution separated in the separation step to obtain an ash-free coal. The ash-free coal obtaining step in the production method is performed so that the solvent is evaporatively separated from the solution to give a liquid ash-free coal, and the liquid ash-free coal is brought into contact with a solidifier (e.g., water) to solidify into a predetermined shape.

Ash-free coal production method

Provided is a method that controls and uniformizes fluidity of ash-free coal. The method includes the steps of obtaining an ash-free coal by removing a solvent from a solution containing a coal component dissolved therein (ash-free coal obtaining step (solvent recovering unit)); and mixing a plurality of coals of different types or components thereof, where the coals are capable of individually giving ash-free coals having different fluidities (mixing step (see reference signs Bto B)). The ash-free coal obtaining step (solvent recovering unit) obtains the ash-free coal by removing the solvent from the solution containing components of the coals which have been mixed.

A gravitational settling tank including a pressure vessel which precipitates solid content contained in slurry in which coal and solvent are blended, and separates the solid-content concentrated liquid from the supernatant liquid, and a supply pipe which supplies the pressure vessel with the slurry. A main body part and a nozzle part which is connected on the downstream side of the main body part and extends horizontally are provided in the supply pipe. A plurality of holes are provided in the nozzle part. By virtue of this, agitation of the solid-content concentrated liquid which has settled in the bottom is inhibited.

Gravitational settling tank and method for producing ash-free coal

Disclosed herein is an inner tube of glass-like carbon for CVD apparatus and a process for production thereof. The inner tube has its surface roughened without increase in metal impurities which cause particles. It has improved adhesion to CVD deposit film and also has a high degree of roundness. The surface roughness (on both the inner and outer surfaces) is 0.1-10 &#x3bc;m measured according to JIS B0601. The concentration of metal impurities (iron, copper, chromium, sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, and aluminum) in the surface is less than 50&#xd7;10atoms/cm.

Component of glass-like carbon for CVD apparatus and process for production thereof

A method for producing a glass-like carbon pipe is provided. The method comprises the steps of producing a plurality of thermosetting resin molded articles by centrifugal molding, said molded articles each having the shape of the sections of a pipe divided in the longitudinal direction and each provided with threaded or fitting portions; integrating these molded articles by joining at the threaded or fitting portions; and carbonizing the joined pipe to thereby produce a glass-like carbon pipe. This method is capable of producing a straight or bent pipe with excellent mechanical strength and gas sealability at the joint, and this method enables production of a pipe at a low cost since no machining is required for providing the threaded or fitting portions.

Method for producing glass-like carbon pipe, and glass-like carbon pipe produced by such method

A two-phase glass-like carbon member has, in combination, a porous glass-like carbon base, and a dense glass-like carbon surface layer formed on the porous glass-like carbon base. The porous glass-like carbon base can be formed in a large thickness. The dense glass-like carbon surface layer is superior to the porous glass-like carbon base in gas impermeability, surface hardness and resistance to dusting. The dense glass-like carbon surface layer supplements disadvantages of the porous glass-like carbon base. The two-phase glass-like carbon member can be in a large thickness exceeding 5 mm and in a complicated shape.

A heating apparatus which is installed in a low pressure CVD system or annealing equipment for use in semiconductor integrated circuit manufacturing processes for heat-treating wafers on which IC's are to be formed, wherein wafers are uniformly heated, the temperature of wafers is rapidly raised and lowered, and wafers are processed in high volume, wherein the apparatus comprises a cylindrical body made of glass-like carbon placed inside a reactor, and a high-frequency induction coil which is placed outside the reactor and is for causing the cylindrical body made of glass-like carbon to produce heat and thereby heating wafers in the reactor.

A method for purifying crude 2,6-naphthalenedicarboxylic acid includes a reduction step of reducing crude 2,6-naphthalenedicarboxylic acid containing 6-formyl-2-naphthoic acid with hydrogen and a cleaning step of cleaning the reduction product with alcohol. Preferably, in the reduction step, the crude 2,6-naphthalenedicarboxylic acid and the hydrogen is brought into contact with a hydrogenation catalyst in a liquid phase, and particularly in water. The method makes the purification process less complex and makes it possible to produce high-purity 2,6-naphthalenedicarboxylic acid without damaging equipment or increasing cost.

Disclosed herein is an inner tube for CVD apparatus which is made of glass-like carbon. This inner tube has good heat resistance and good corrosion resistance. It also has an inside surface for good adhesion with CVD film constituents. Therefore, it hardly contaminates silicon wafers during the production of semiconductors. The inner tube is characterized by a specific coefficient of thermal expansion, a specific surface roughness of its inside surface, a specific oxygen/carbon atomic ratio (O/C) of its inside surface, and a specific I(D)/I(G) ratio of its inside surface, where I(D) is a peak intensity representing the C&mdash;C bond of diamond-like structure and I(G) is a peak intensity representing the C&mdash;C bond of graphite-like structure.

An organic LED is provided that can stably and efficiently emit light as a result of a heat resistant hole drift layer. The organic LED can include, in order, a substrate, a hole injection electrode layer, a hole drift layer, an organic light emitting layer, an electron drift layer and an electron injection electrode layer. The hole drift layer comprises a diamond film with a boron concentration of between about 1.0&times;10,and about 1.0&times;10,/cm,. An optically transparent layer can be formed on the electron injection electrode layer.

A carbon substrate is prepared from a molded article of thermosetting resin by heat-treating in an inert atmosphere. The resin is characterized in that the content of Fe, Al, Ni, Co, Cr, and Mg insoluble in the resin is less than 1 ppm each and the content of Ca and Si insoluble in the resin is less than 2 ppm each. The thermosetting resin is further characterized in that the water content is less than 3 wt % and the ratio of the methylene carbon (CH.sub.2) connected to the hydroxyl group (OH) is less than 3% (based on the total carbon number). The carbon substrate prepared in this manner is almost free of defects and voids. It is suitable for use as the substrate of magnetic recording medium. The thermosetting resin may be a powdery or granular one which fluidizes and then cures on heating. A molded article of thermosetting resin is prepared by introducing the resin melt into a mold and curing it with heating under pressure. It is subsequently heat-treated in an inert atmosphere to give a molded article of glass-like carbon.
