Techniques for enhancing performance in Industrial Internet-of-Things (IIoT) scenarios, including techniques for time-sensitive networking (TSN) and 5G wireless network integration. An example method, performed by a wireless device, comprises receiving system information (SI) from a radio base station (RBS) of a radio access network (RAN), the SI being indicative of support for TSN through the RBS, and establishing at least one TSN stream with an external data network, through the RBS. The example method further includes receiving a first timing signal from the wireless communications network, via the RBS, receiving a second timing signal from the external TSN data network to which the wireless device is connected, comparing the first timing signal to the second timing signal to determine an offset, and transmitting the offset to the wireless communications network.

Systems and methods for transmitting a semi-persistent scheduling (SPS) release command to a user equipment (UE)

A method and communication device for reporting HARQ-ACK code books of fixed sizes in a communication network is provided. The method includes responsive to operating in a first mode, reporting the HARQ-ACK codebook for each scheduled transmission to a network node. The method further includes responsive to operating in a second mode, reporting the HARQ-ACK codebook to the network node if at least one of the HARQ-ACK information in the codebook is ACK, wherein no NACK is transmitted in the codebook when operating in the second mode. The method further includes responsive to operating in a third mode, reporting the HARQ-ACK codebook to the network node if at least one of the HARQ-ACK information in the codebook is NACK, wherein no ACK is transmitted in the codebook when operating in the second mode.

Semi-static HARQ codebook for DL-SPS

A wireless device is configured to receive control signaling from a radio network node. The control signaling configures an uplink grant or downlink assignment to periodically recur. The control signaling also configures a number of redundant transmissions of a transport block that are transmittable within a bundle of the configured uplink grant or downlink assignment, where the number is greater than or equal to one. The control signaling may also configure different sets of transmission occasions within which the number of redundant transmissions are transmittable during, or starting during, a period of the configured uplink grant or downlink assignment.

Bundling for a configured grant or assignment in a wireless communication system

A method, system and apparatus are disclosed for priority indication. In one embodiment, a wireless device is configured to receive a priority indicator associated with a downlink control information, DCI, message, the DCI message being associated with one of an uplink-configured grant, UL-CG, configuration and a downlink-semipersistent assignment, DL-SPS, configuration; and determine a use of the priority indicator associated with the DCI message. In another embodiment, a network node is configured to determine a use of a priority indicator associated with a downlink control information, DCI, message; and send the priority indicator associated with the DCI message according to the determined use, the DCI message being associated with one of an uplink-configured grant, UL-CG, configuration and a downlink-semipersistent assignment, DL-SPS, configuration.

Methods for use of priority indication associated with CG/SPS transmission

A method and network node for configuring a WD, to perform uplink transmissions using an uplink configured grant, UL-CG, or a dynamic grant is provided. The network node signals by radio resource control, RRC, signaling to the WD, a time domain resource assignment, TDRA, table for the uplink transmissions. The network node signals further signals to the WD, an indication of a particular repetition factor to be used by the WD to determine when to perform the uplink transmissions.

A method and apparatus are disclosed for transmission of one or more UCIs with colliding PUSCH. In one embodiment, a method implemented in a wireless device (WD) is provided. The method includes determining a first uplink control information (UCI) and a second UCI, the first UCI associated with a first physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) and the second UCI associated with a second PUCCH; and combining the first UCI and the second UCI and/or disregarding at least one of the first UCI and the second UCI and/or transmitting at least one of the first UCI and the second UCI in a time resource.

Systems and methods for dynamic and flexible configurations for configured grants are provided. In some embodiments, a method performed by a wireless device for configuring uplink grants includes receiving, from a network node, one or more indications to enable one or more configured grant configurations per cell and/or per BWP where at least one configured grant configuration indicating a plurality of transmission occasions within a period. The method also includes transmitting at least one transmission based on the at least one configured grant configuration. This may enable the use of different periodicity of mixed Time Sensitive Network (TSN), random Ultra-Reliable Low-Latency Communication (URLLC), and enhanced Mobile Broadband (eMBB) traffics; reduce the misalignment delay of the arrived data; improve the spectral efficiency of the eMBB traffic while satisfying the URLLC requirement; and/or reduce the number of Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request processes needed to transmit a considerable number of Configured Grant configurations.

Dynamic and flexible configurations for configured grants

Methods and systems for reliability enhancement for User Equipment (UE) with partial repetitions in Configured Grant (CG) are provided. According to one aspect, a method, performed by a UE in a Fifth Generation (5G) network, comprises: receiving data to be transmitted as uplink (UL) transmissions in CG resources K number of times within a CG period; determining that the number of Transmission Occasions (TOs) remaining within the CG resources and within the CG period for the UE is less than K; and either: transmitting the data within the remaining TOs within the CG resources and also within TOs within shared resources such that the transmission is performed at least K number of times; waiting until the beginning of the next CG period to transmit K number of times within the CG resources; or transmitting the data within the remaining TOs within the CG resources with an increased power.

Reliability enhancement for user equipment with partial repetitions in configured grant

There is presented a method for operating a user equipment, UE () in a wireless communication network (). The method comprises receiving () a message indicating an uplink radio resource, the uplink resource having occurred before receiving the message. The method further comprises transmitting () a second representation of a data packet based on determining that the indicated uplink radio resource has been used by the UE for transmitting a first representation of the data packet, prior to receiving the message. Additionally, a method for operating a network node () in a wireless communication network () is disclosed, the method comprises detecting () a signal on an uplink resource configured for grant free access and transmitting () a non-UE specific message based on the signal not being successfully received and wherein the non-UE specific message comprises information indicating the uplink resource configured for grant free access. Corresponding network node and user equipment are also presented.

Common NACK for uplink grant-free transmissions

According to the present disclosure, behaviors of a Base Station (BS) and a User Equipment (UE) pertinent to Reference Signal (RS) transmissions are discussed. BS may configure RS corresponding to a set of antenna ports in two or more groups of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) symbols on a short Physical Downlink Sharing CHannel (sPDSCH), where subcarrier indices used for RS transmission are different between at least two groups of OFDM symbols. Then, BS may transmit the RS to UE. UE will receive RS and perform channel estimation based on the received RS.

Method for transmitting reference signal

A receiver blindly determines which parts of the soft buffer to flush by comparing the reception of a first transmission to the reception of a second transmission (i.e., a re-transmission of the first transmission). Any large differences between the first and second transmissions are identified as puncturing events. After identifying the location of the puncturing events, the receiver then evaluates different hypotheses about which one of the transmissions was punctured in the different events. For each of the hypotheses the receiver attempts to decode the received data and the receiver stops processing once decoding is successful or after the receiver has processed all of the hypotheses.
