An ink composition that offers a recorded image having rubfastness and having high quality without causing a mottling phenomenon, an inkjet recording method using the same, and a colored article. The ink composition includes a compound represented by the following formula (1): a colorant, a dispersant, and a C4-C12 alkanediol, in which the content of the compound represented by formula (1) is 0.1 to 5% by mass. In the formula (1), Rrepresents a hydroxy group or the like, Rrepresents an alkyl group or the like, Rrepresents an alkyl group or the like, Rrepresents a hydrogen atom or the like, and Rrepresents an alkyl group.

An aqueous pigment ink composition having high scratch resistance and good ejection properties and redispersibility, an ink jet recording method using the aqueous pigment ink composition, and a colored substance including the aqueous pigment ink composition. The ink composition includes a colorant, a resin, and water. The colorant includes a coloring matter that is substantially insoluble in water. The resin is a polymer produced by polymerization of at least one monomer represented by the following formula (1) in which Rdenotes a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, and Rdenotes a methyl group, a C8 alkyl group, or the like.

Ink set, inkjet recording method, and colored body

An aqueous black ink composition that can form black recorded images having excellent light resistance and water resistance, in particular, being hardly discolored by light. The aqueous ink composition contains, as colorants, at least both a compound represented by Formula (1) or its salt or a mixture thereof and a colorant having a maximum absorption wavelength &#x3bb;max in a range of 560 to 680 nm and having a phthalocyanine skeleton. In Formula (1), R, R, R, Rand Reach independently represent, for example, a hydrogen atom, a carboxy group, a sulfo group, or a nitro group; Rand Reach independently represent, for example, a hydrogen atom or a sulfo group; and n represents 0 or 1.
