A skull clamping device for fixing and aligning a head of a patient for a medical intervention includes a first ring element and a second ring element arranged concentrically. The second ring element is arranged within the first ring element and is connected hereto by a second axis, about which the second ring element is mounted rotatably within the first ring element. The first ring element is mounted rotatably about a first axis that is orthogonal to the second axis. The skull clamping device also includes a motor-driven drive that drives rotation of the first ring element and/or the second ring element about the respective axis, at least two pins arranged in an innermost ring element, two telescope bars that hold the first ring element and the second ring element, and a control unit for the motor-driven drive.

A method is provided for automatically determining a suitable angulation or inclination of a recording system during a navigation of a guide wire through a vascular system of a patient from a vessel into a branch of the vessel. The method includes recording a sequence of live X-ray images of the guide wire and presenting the X-ray images on a display unit. A first virtual tangent is applied to a first section of the guide wire, and a second virtual tangent is applied to a second section of the guide wire on the X-ray images. A point of intersection of the virtual tangents is determined on the X-ray images, and a triangle is determined. An area of the triangle is determined, and the suitable angulation or inclination of the recording system is determined by maximizing the area of the triangle by movement of the recording system.

Determining a suitable angulation and device

System and methods are provided for an X-ray assembly including at least two X-ray facilities each with a control facility and a recording assembly including an X-ray tube and an X-ray detector. At least one of the X-ray facilities is a mobile X-ray facility with a mobile carrier carrying the recording assembly. The control facility of least one of the at least one mobile X-ray facility is configured to control the image recording operation of the respective X-ray facility using control data received from another control facility via a communication connection and/or to transfer at least one recorded image dataset to at least one further control facility via the communication connection.
