The described embodiments set forth techniques for private cellular wireless network management personalized for a wireless device, including private cellular wireless network characterization at frequently visited locations, targeted cell search, cell radio link monitoring, and radio resource management. The wireless device builds a database of private cellular wireless networks characterized using information gathered when searching for and while attached to cells of a private cellular wireless network. The wireless device uses the database to determine when to enable or disable SIMs or eSIMs of private cellular wireless networks at known locations and network parameters to use to find and connect to the private cellular wireless networks. The wireless device uses learning processes to maintain currency of the database of private cellular wireless networks as network topologies change.

Personalized private cellular wireless network management for wireless devices

A wireless network may include network equipment such as base stations that operate within cells and that communicate with user equipment (UE) devices. The network equipment may harvest anonymized data from the UE devices and may generate connection counts based on the anonymized data. The network equipment may estimate the total population of each cell based on the connection counts, may generate a maximum number of individuals allowed in the cells under a social distancing guideline, and may compare the estimated total population of the cells to the maximum number of individuals. Cells having an estimated total population that exceeds the maximum number of individuals may be labeled as cells having poor social distancing. Information may be provided to a UE device identifying these cells to allow a user to make informed decisions on where to travel without exposing private information to the network.

Wireless communications systems with social distancing identification

This disclosure relates to techniques for performing application context aware cell selection in a wireless communication system. A wireless device may determine a current location of the wireless device. The wireless device may determine cells associated with the current location of the wireless device. Application context based metric information may be determined for the cells associated with the current location of the wireless device. The wireless device may determine a cell with which to associate from the cells associated with the current location of the wireless device based at least in part on the application context based metric information.

Application and service context aware cell selection

This disclosure relates to techniques for a wireless device to predict and mitigate thermal pressure. Status information for multiple parameters for the wireless device may be received. A predicted thermal status for the wireless device may be determined based at least in part on the status information for the multiple parameters for the wireless device. The wireless device may determine whether to perform thermal mitigation action based at least in part on the predicted thermal status for the wireless device.
