In accordance with particular embodiments, a method, performed by a control node, for multimedia broadcast multicast service, MBMS, bearer setup in a group communications system comprises activating and announcing an MBMS bearer to the client nodes. The MBMS bearer is independent of any particular group of client nodes. The method also includes obtaining a call setup message for a group call from a first client node of the client nodes. The method additionally includes broadcasting a connect message for the group call to at least one other client node of the client nodes in response to having received the call setup message. In accordance with certain embodiments, a method, performed by a client node, for MBMS bearer setup in a group communications system comprises obtaining a service announcement of an MBMS bearer from a control node. The MBMS bearer is independent of any particular group of client nodes. The method additionally includes providing a call setup message for a group call to the control node in response thereto.

Disclosed herein is a method for reporting existence of an isolated radio access network and a wireless device and a radio base station for performing the method. The method comprises: performing communications in an isolated radio access network, the isolated radio access network being a radio access network provided by one or more first radio base stations that do not have connectivity to a centralized core network of a cellular communications network; attaching to a second radio base station, the second radio base station having connectivity to the core network; and providing, to a centralized communications server via the second radio base station, one or more messages that inform the centralized communications server of the existence of the isolated radio access network.

Isolated E-UTRAN operations for public safety (IOPS) awareness with multimedia broadcast multicast services (MBMS)

A method, by a control node, for MBMS bearer handling comprises activating and announcing a first MBMS bearer for supporting floor control in a group call to client nodes of the group call. The method additionally includes activating and announcing at least one second MBMS bearer for supporting media transmission in the group call. The floor control and the media transmission are supported on separate MBMS bearers for the group call. A method, by a client node for MBMS bearer handling comprises obtaining a broadcast service announcement of a first MBMS bearer for supporting floor control in a group call from a control node of the group call. The method additionally includes obtaining a broadcast service announcement of at least one second MBMS bearer for supporting media transmission in the group call from the control node. The floor control and the media transmission are supported on separate MBMS bearers for the group call.

MBMS bearer handling in a group communications system

There is provided mechanisms for service interruption reporting of a multicast bearer for group communications. A method is performed by a client node. The method comprises obtaining instruction from a control node of the multicast bearer, where the instruction instructs whether or not the client node is to report service interruption of the multicast bearer. The method comprises detecting service interruption of the multicast bearer. The method comprises selectively reporting the service interruption to the control node in accordance with the instruction.

There is provided mechanisms for determining priority of use of network resources used by an MC service in a network. A method is performed by a first MC service server. The method comprises obtaining a priority request from a second MC service server for elevated priority of use of networkresources for a service provided by the second MC service server. The method comprises determining whether to grant, reject, or queue the priority request. The method comprises, when determined to grant the priority request, providing a first notification of the grant to the second MC service server and a second notification of the grant to at least one third MC service server.

The disclosure relates to methods at a wireless communication system, a wireless communication device, a network communication node, and a control node, respectively, for bearer control in a wireless communication system (). Specifically, the method comprises determining (S), by the WCD or the network communication node, whether the number of radio bearers concurrently active for the WCD is at least one of equal to a threshold value and above the threshold value. If the threshold is reached, then the WCD or the network communication node transmits (S), towards the control node (), a first status message indicative of that the number of radio bearers concurrent active has reached the threshold value. The first status message is received by the control node and in response to the reception (S) of the message the control node determines (S), based on the first status message, whether an MBMS bearer is to be activated. Further, when it is determined (S) that the MBMS bearer is to be activated, the control node activates (S) the MBMS bearer. Mitigation of shortage of unicast bearers in a wireless communication system

There is provided mechanisms for paging at least one client node in a group communications system. A method is performed by a control node of the group communications system. The method comprises obtaining a need for paging the at least one client node in the group communications system. The method comprises transmitting a paging message for the at least one client node on a multimedia broadcast multicast service (MBMS) bearer to the at least one client node. There is also provided a control node configured to perform such a method. There is also provided mechanisms for receiving paging in a group communications system.

Paging in a group communications system

There is provided mechanisms for resource allocation for group communication in a network. A method is performed by a server node of the group communication. The method comprises receiving a first request from a client node for the client node to affiliate with a group of client nodes in order for the client node to join a group communication session of the group communication system. The method comprises requesting, from a core network node and in response to the first request, a first allocation of network resources to be used by the client node for transmission control of the group communication session. The method comprises receiving a second request for a group call from the client node. The method comprises requesting, from the core network node and upon reception of the second request, a second allocation of network resources to be used by the client node for media transmission in the group call.

Resource allocation for group communication in a network

There is provided mechanisms for multimedia broadcast multicast service (MBMS) bearer handling in a group communications system. A method is performed by a control node. The method comprises obtaining a need for a new MBMS bearer to be activated. The method comprises activating the new MBMS bearer. The method comprises announcing MBMS bearer identity and complementary service announcement information of the new MBMS bearer on an already announced MBMS bearer, thereby announcing the new MBMS bearer.

Priority handling in a communications system. The system comprises one or more data bearers and a priority handling module. Each of the one or more bearers is configured to transport one or more of the data flows. The priority handling module is configured to prioritize between data flows, and is further configured to: receive a request for priority configuration or re-configuration of a first data flow; obtain a priority sharing identifier of the first data flow; identify other data flows in the communication system having the priority sharing identifier of the first transport data flow; and update priority rules associated with the first data flow and also with any other identified data flows in the communication system having the priority sharing identifier of the first transport data flow to agree with a shared priority rule.

A system, method, and network node for priority handling in a communications system are presented. The system comprises one or more data bearers and a priority handling module. Each of the one or more bearers is configured to transport one or more of the data flows. The priority handling module is configured to prioritize between data flows, and is further configured to: receive a request for priority configuration or re-configuration of a first data flow; obtain a priority sharing identifier of the first data flow; identify other data flows in the communication system having the priority sharing identifier of the first transport data flow; and update priority rules associated with the first data flow and also with any other identified data flows in the communication system having the priority sharing identifier of the first transport data flow to agree with a shared priority rule.
