A cross-linked polyethylene pipe comprising an ethylene polymer with a density of at least 948 kg/mobtained by polymerization with a single-site catalyst and having a shear thinning index SHIof less than 10; and wherein said pipe has a pressure test at 4.8 MPa and 95&#xb0; C. of at least 500 h and at 12.4 MPa and 20&#xb0; C. of at least 500 h.

The present invention relates to an article coated with a composition comprising (A) an ethylene homo- or copolymer resin which has been prepared by using a single-site catalyst further characterized in that component (A) has an MFR, measured according to ISO 1133 at 190&#xb0; C. and under a load of 21.6 kg, from 0.01 to 20 g/10 min. The present invention further relates to an article coated with a composition comprising (A) an ethylene homo- or copolymer resin which has been prepared by using a single-site catalyst further characterized in that component (A) has an impact strength at &#x2212;40&#xb0; C. of at least 80 kJ/min a Charpy notched test according to ISO ISO 179-1/1eA:2000 with a pendulum energy of 15 J. The invention is furthermore directed to the use of the composition for the coating of an article.

Article coated with a composition comprising polyethylene prepared with a single site catalyst

A multimodal ethylene copolymer with a density of at least 940 kg/mhaving an MFRin the range of 1 to 30 g/10 min and a F/&#x3bb;ratio of less than 60 cN/s; said ethylene copolymer comprising at least three components (I) an ethylene and optionally at least one C3-20 alpha olefin comonomer component forming 30 to 60 wt % of said ethylene copolymer; (II) an ethylene and optionally at least one C3-20 alpha olefin comonomer second component forming 30 to 60 wt % of said ethylene copolymer: and (III) an ethylene and optionally at least one C3-20 alpha olefin comonomer third component forming 3 to 20 wt % of said ethylene copolymer; wherein at least one of components (II) or (III) is a copolymer.

Multimodal polymer

The present invention relates to a pipe made of a polyethylene composition comprising a polyethylene base resin, which comprises c. an ethylene copolymer as fraction (A), and d. an ethylene homo- or copolymer as fraction (B), with fraction (A) having a lower molecular weight than fraction (B), wherein the polyethylene base resin is obtainable in a polymerization process in which a single-site catalyst (SSC) is used in the polymerization of at least one of fractions (A) and (B), the base resin having (i) a density of below 940 kg/m, and (ii) a MFRat 190&#xb0; C./5.00 kg of at least 0.20 g/10 min, and the polyethylene composition having a time to failure of at least 250 h measured according to ISO 1167 at 95&#xb0; C. and 4.3 MPa.

Pipe having improved high temperature resistance

The present invention relates to a polyolefin composition comprising a crosslinkable polyolefin with hydrolysable silane groups and a silanol condensation catalyst, and (A) a compound containing one or more PO(OR)(OR)(OR&#x2033;) groups, wherein R, R', and R&#x2033; are the same or different organic residues; m is 0 or 1; n, o, and p each are 0 or 1; and n+o+p=1 to 3; a master batch for a crosslinkable polyolefin composition comprising a polymer and a silanol condensation catalyst and component (A), a stabilized polyolefin containing cross-linked silane groups wherein cross-linking has been performed by the use of a silanol condensation catalyst, further comprising component (A), and to the use of component (A) for stabilizing a polyolefin composition comprising a crosslinkable polyolefin with hydrolysable silane groups and a silanol condensation catalyst. The polyolefin composition of the invention can be used for pipe, wire & cable, film, fiber and molding applications.

Discolour-free silanol condensation catalyst containing polyolefin composition

A peroxide crosslinked ethylene polymer pressure pipe and a method for the preparation thereof are described. The pipe is characterized in that it comprises an ethylene polymer with a density of less than 950 kg/mobtained by polymerization with a single-site catalyst and having a shear thinning index, SHIof less than 20 and a MWD of &#x3c;10. The method is characterized in that it comprises polymerizing ethylene, optionally together with at least one comonomer, with a single-site catalyst to provide the above defined ethylene polymer, forming the ethylene polymer into a pipe by extrusion and crosslinking it.

Coating composition

Moulding composition

The present invention deals with polymer compositions suitable for making pipes. The compositions comprise a multimodal copolymer of ethylene and one or more alpha-olefins having from 4 to 10 carbon atoms wherein the multimodal ethylene copolymer has a density of from 924 to 935 kg/m, a melt index MFRof from 0.5 to 6.0 g/10 min, a melt index MFRof from 0.1 to 2.0 g/10 min and a shear thinning index SHIof from 2 to 50. The present invention deals with polymer compositions suitable for making pipes. The compositions comprise a multimodal copolymer of ethylene and one or more alpha-olefins having from 4 to 10 carbon atoms wherein the multimodal ethylene copolymer has a density of from 924 to 960 kg/m, a melt index MFRof from 0.5 to 6.0 g/10 min, a melt index MFRof from 0.1 to 2.0 g/10 min and a shear thinning index SHIof from 2 to 50.
