A measurement system for use in an exercise machine, which exercise machine comprises a lifting mechanism and an engaging member for selectively engaging a number of stacked weights to the lifting mechanism, the measurement system comprising a pair of cooperating members including a range meter and a reflector member, wherein one of the cooperating members is connected to the lifting mechanism and the other of the cooperating members is connected to the engaging member, wherein the range meter is directed to measure a distance to the reflector member to determine a distance which correlates to the weight of the selectively engaged weights.

The present invention relates to a method and system for providing access to a device for a user. The method comprises the steps of receiving an access attempt from the user to the device, identifying the user attempting to access the device, retrieving personal information from a database related to the user, the personal information comprising personal traits of the user, selecting a visual challenge configured based on the personal information, issuing the visual challenge to the user, receiving visual input corresponding to an eye-movement of the user relating to the visual challenge, determining whether the user passed the visual challenge based on the received visual input corresponding to an eye movement of the user, and allowing access to the device for the user if the user passes the visual challenge, or denying access to the device for the user if the user fails the visual challenge.

A method, a device, and a non-transitory storage medium having instructions to detect, via an ultrasound transducer, an ultrasound event that includes an ultrasound signal that is transdermally propagated on the body of a user and generated by an on-body touch in an area in which the ultrasound signal has propagated; detect a state of a limb of the user on which the device is worn, wherein the state is a contracted state or a relaxed state; and select an input based on the receipt of the ultrasound signal and the state of the limb. An accelerometer may be used to detect muscle tremor and determine whether the state of the limb.

An apparatus and method generate a three-dimensional image by determining, using a light-field camera, a depth map corresponding to an environment. The depth map represents how light falls in the environment. An object of the present invention is to provide a way of improving the stitching procedure. The object is achieved by a method in an electronic device for creating a combined image. The method comprises obtaining () a first set of at least two sub-images recorded by an array camera. The method further comprises obtaining () a second set of at least two sub-images recorded by the array camera. A first depth map is calculated for the first set of sub-images. The first depth map comprises information about a first plane of the sub-images and a second plane of the sub-images. The first plane being at a first distance from the point where the sub-images have been recorded, and the second plane being at a second distance from the point where the sub-images have been recorded. A second depth map is calculated for the second set of sub-images. The second depth map comprises information about the first plane and the second plane. The method further comprises stitching the first set of sub-images and the second set of sub-images in the first plane, and thereby obtaining a first stitched image. The first set of sub-images and the second set of sub-images are stitched in the second plane, and thereby obtaining a second stitched image. Finally the method comprises combining the first stitched image with the second stitched image and thereby creating the combined image.
