A spacer device for roller elements of a toroidal roller bearing includes an inner ring with an inner ring raceway and an outer ring with an outer ring raceway. The toroidal roller bearing allows for axial and angular displacement between the inner ring and the outer ring. The spacer device comprises at least one centering element that is arranged to extend in between adjacent roller elements in a longitudinal direction of the roller elements when the spacer device is in use. The at least one centering element is arranged to make contact with at least one of one point or a region of one of the inner ring raceway or the outer ring raceway when the spacer device is in use, whereby the spacer device is centered on the one of the inner ring raceway or the outer ring raceway.

An angular contact self-aligning toroidal roller bearing comprising an inner ring, an outer ring, and a set of rolling elements formed of rollers arranged in an intermediate configuration between the inner and outer rings. Each roller is arranged to self orient in its axial direction in relation to the inner and outer rings in a loaded zone during operation. A method and hydraulic nut for mounting a hollow article which has a conically shaped opening, such as a conical ring, on a conical shaft. The method comprises the following steps: a) installing the hollow article on the shaft, in order to fit the conically shaped surfaces of the article and the shaft against each other; b) moving the hollow article to a starting position (B), in order to provide an initial press fit; and c) moving the hollow article over a predetermined distance (S.sub.s) from the initial position to an end position (C), in order to provide a final press fit.

A roller bearing includes an inner raceway member having an inner raceway surface and an outer raceway member having an outer raceway surface. The inner and outer raceway surfaces are spaced apart from one another to define an annular space and a plurality of rolling elements are disposed in the annular space for engaging the inner and outer raceway surfaces as the rolling elements roll in a rolling direction. During operation of the roller bearing, friction forces arise at regions of the inner and outer raceway surfaces that give rise to positive skew moments. Those regions of the raceway surfaces are designed to have greater frictional characteristics than those regions of the inner and outer raceway surfaces where negative skew moment producing friction forces arise. In that way, the skew of the roller can be controlled to be not excessively negative.

A multi-row spherical roller bearing includes an inner race ring, an outer race ring, two rows of rollers, a cage for each row of rollers and a guiding ring disposed between the rows of rollers. The guiding ring is arranged to be guided only by the outer race ring, and the cages are arranged to be guided only by the guiding ring.

Bearing (14) of the type having a full complement of rollers incorporating an inner race ring (13), an outer race ring (14) and a row of rollers (15) provided between these rings, said rollers being axially moveable relative to the rings. The space between inner race ring (13) and outer race ring (14) is sealed off by means of sealing members (18) arranged on one hand to provide a sealing effect by frictional engagement against the inner race ring as well as against the outer race ring, and on the other hand to follow the rollers (15) in their axial movement.

A sealing device for a slot between two elements, which are rotatable relative to each other, e.g. an outer and an inner race ring in a rolling bearing, incorporates a flexible sealing portion having a lip, which contacts a sealing surface surrounding the lip. The sealing portion is rotatable, and the centrifugal force acts upon it thus that it tends to leave the surface at increasing rotational speed. In order positively to avoid that the lip is urged so hard against the surface at high rotational speeds, that an unallowable temperature increase occurs, the sealing portion and the surface have profiles of such shape, that the lip is displaced in a direction which has a component directed radially outwards relative to the rotational axis, when the sealing portion with the lip is bent by the centrifugal force.

A roller bearing comprising an inner and outer raceway and a row of rollers arranged between and contacting the raceways, the axes of the rollers being substantially parallel to the axes of the raceways when the latter are coinciding, the rollers and the raceways having curved longitudinal section profiles in which the curve radii are substantially greater than the greatest distance between the central axis of the bearing and the surfaces of the raceways and wherein the rollers are axially movable between the raceways without being obstructed by axial limitations at the raceways or by limited axial cage play for permitting relative inclination and axial displaceability being limited only by the rollers being squeezed radially between the raceways.

A rolling bearing characterized by novel features of construction and arrangement wherein the rotational speed of the rolling bodies all have the same revolution speed under varying load conditions and even if they lie in different load zones or are of different size within reasonable tolerance limits. By this construction, the retainer pockets can be sized to provide small play for the rolling elements to enhance the guiding of the rolling bodies and eliminate undesirable noise. This, of course, eliminates force effects from the retainer for rolling elements which are larger or smaller than the nominal dimension.
