A method for use in a first node in a wireless access communication system (). According to the method, the first node controls traffic to and from users, UEs, within a certain area in the system, a cell, and the first node is equipped with a plurality of transmit antennas. The first node can employ a variety of multi antenna transmit modes for downlink transmissions, i.e. transmissions to the UEs, and the first node can carry out a so called Random Access (RA) procedure with UEs which do not have a dedicated uplink resource, i.e. a resource to the eNodeB. According to the method, one and the same downlink multi antenna transmit mode is used by the first node during the RA procedure.

The invention relates to a method for improved gear shifting of a vehicle having an Otto-engine and a vehicle transmission with a manually actuated clutch of the vehicle transmission, comprising the steps of: determining a first set of condition parameter values, said parameters comprising clutch position, requested engine torque and engine speed; determining if the first set of condition parameter values meet first predetermined conditions; if the first predetermined conditions of said first set of condition parameter values are met, activating a function for interrupting fuel provision of the engine before disengaging the vehicle transmission during gear shifting. The invention also relates also to system and a computer program product for implementing the method and a motor vehicle equipped with the system.

Method and a system for improved gear shifting of a transmission

A procedure for synchronization of re-configuration of RRC procedures between the radio base station and the UE is achieved by associating a new configuration to be used by a UE with an additional UE identity. The UE is normally identified by a first UE identity, but is informed in a re-configuration message that the UE also has the additional UE identity. The UE is identified by the additional UE identity when the new configuration is to be activated. Hence, when the radio base station detects that the UE responds to requests, which included the additional UE identity, the radio base station can conclude that the UE has activated the new configuration.

Methods and arrangements for a mobile communications network

Disclosed is a method for use in a first node in a wireless access communication system. The method comprises letting the second BS inform the first BS that an update has taken place in the system information of the second BS, and also comprises letting the first BS acquire the updated system information of the second BS, and letting the first BS transmit at least part of the updated system information of the second BS to MSs in the cell of the first BS.

The present disclosure relates to delay compensation during synchronization of uplink and downlink frames in a base station in a cellular communication network. In general, the base station includes a radio equipment and a radio equipment controller that together form at least part of the base station. In one embodiment, the radio equipment includes a first interface configured to receive data from the radio equipment controller and a second interface configured to send data to the radio equipment controller. During synchronization, the radio equipment receives, at the first interface of the radio equipment, a synchronization message from the radio equipment controller. The radio equipment then passes the synchronization message from the first interface of the radio equipment to the second interface of the radio equipment with a synthetic delay that is in addition to an in-equipment delay from the first interface to the second interface.

The invention relates to communication between mobile nodes and/or node arrangements in wireless communication networks. In particular, the invention relates to a method in a radio access arrangement for improving the balance between the capacity allocated to initial access for network entry and the capacity allocated to payloads in the radio access arrangement. The radio access arrangement is configured to operatively communicate with a plurality of mobile nodes via an air interface. First, an initial access capacity is set to a value (S), and then a current initial access load is obtained (S). The next step is to increase (S) the initial access capacity provided by the radio access arrangement () if the current initial access load exceeds a predetermined upper limit (S).

A method and apparatus for a cellular system is provided. Communication is carried out between a controlling station of a cell and a number of users in said cell, and the controlling station is equipped with a plurality of antennas. The communication can alter between a first and a second mode, and the users in the cell provide the controlling station with feedback information regarding their reception quality. The controlling station alters between said first and second modes of communication as a result of the reliability of the feedback information from the users in the cell, so that if the reliability is above a first threshold, the first mode is used, and if the reliability is equal to or below said first threshold, the second mode is used.

Selection of transmission mode

A wireless telecommunications system with mobile terminals, MSs and a Base Station, BS, through which traffic to and from the MSs in a cell, is routed, so that there can be Down Link, DL, traffic from the BS of a cell to the MSs in that cell, and Up Link, UL, traffic from those MSs to the BS. At least part of the UL traffic is contention based, and DL data to an MS must be acknowledged by the MS. The method comprises letting the BS detect MSs in the cell whose DL traffic rate exceeds a certain limit, and also comprises a mechanism for allocating to said detected MSs an UL bandwidth which enables them to acknowledge DL traffic within a certain time period from its reception by the MS.

Allocation of uplink resources

The present invention relates to a method and arrangement for triggering a Random Access Channel (RACH) procedure for requesting uplink resources on a random access channel to a radio base station () scheduler based on a change in terminal () buffer status as compared to a Buffer Status Report BSR stored in said terminal. In a first method step, the status of the present terminal buffer content, i.e. terminal buffer data, is compared with the status of said stored buffer status report BSR. A second method step involves initiating a RACH procedure for indicating a service request to said base station scheduler upon detecting a change of buffer status at said comparison. The service request includes an indicator of the status change as a trigger for said scheduler to assign uplink resources to said terminal.

Method and arrangement in a telecommunications system
