A RAP detection procedure that can be used to find the best narrow beam in an efficient manner. In a first step, an access point correlates an incoming signal with appropriate RAPs and then selects at least one candidate RAP for further processing in at least one set of narrow beams that all reside within the coverage area of a wide beam with which the candidate preamble is associated. For each candidate RAP, a second step is executed including narrow beamforming and a PRACH receiver chain including threshold comparison.

Preamble detection during a random access procedure

Indication of Transmission Configuration Indication (TCI) states for aperiodic Channel State Information-Reference Signal (CSI-RS) with low configuration overhead is provided. More specifically, methods performed by a wireless device(s) and a base station(s) for indicating a configuration parameter(s) for triggering aperiodic CSI-RS are provided. The methods disclosed herein make it possible for triggering aperiodic CSI-RS with multiple options (e.g., any of indicated TCI states and/or Quasi Co-Located relationships). As a result, it is possible to significantly reduce configuration overhead related to indicating aperiodic CSI-RS.

A method, system and apparatus are disclosed. According to one aspect of the disclosure, a network node configured to communicate with a wireless device is provided. The network node includes processing circuitry configured to: cause a first physical downlink control channel, PDCCH, transmission starting at a first symbol and cause a second PDCCH transmission starting at a second symbol where the first PDCCH transmission is configured to schedule a first physical uplink shared channel, PUSCH, transmission ending at a third symbol for a transport block and the second PDCCH transmission configured to schedule a second PUSCH transmission starting at a fourth symbol for the transport block, where the second symbol occurs before the third symbol, the third symbol occurs later in time than the first symbol and the fourth symbol occurs later in time than that second symbol.

Multi-transmission and reception point (TRP) redundancy and soft combining with reduced latency

A network node, computer program product, and a method by a network node to allocate at least two beams in a slot to schedule multiple user equipments, UEs, are provided. Each UE is allocated to a baseband port of a plurality of baseband ports such that there is more than one UE allocated to each baseband port. For each baseband port of the plurality of baseband ports: the baseband port is mapped to a polarization of an antenna having multiple polarizations and to one beam of a plurality of beams. The polarization of a baseband port is switched in a time domain to create time diversity of services towards the multiple UEs, wherein a UE is subject to a first polarization for a subset of time occasions and to a second polarization for other time occasions.

There is provided mechanisms for controlling transmission from an antenna panel. The method is performed by a network apparatus. A method comprises performing time-domain beamformed communication with terminal devices served by the network apparatus using the antenna panel split into N>1 subpanels. Each subpanel has two input ports and is fed, via the input ports, by signals and configured to generate beams by application of antenna element weights to its antenna elements. The subpanels are at least phase-wise synchronized with each other. When one and the same signal is fed into the input ports of all the subpanels, signals as transmitted from the subpanels add up coherently to represent a 1-layer transmission by a time reference being shared between the subpanels. The time-domain beamformed communication is performed by the network apparatus using from 1 to 2N layers per symbol of a transmission time interval according to a mapping between the input ports and the signals as transmitted from the subpanels.

Control of transmission from an antenna panel

The present disclosure relates to a method performed by a core network node for enabling handling of data packets in a wireless communication system. The core network node identifies a potentially malicious service data flow associated with a communication device. The core network node assigns, to the potentially malicious service data flow, an identifier value to an identifier. The identifier value indicates that data packets associated with the potentially malicious service data flow should be handled according to a packet handling rule for potentially malicious data packets. The core network node provides an identifier comprising the identifier value towards the communication device towards at least one of an access node that serves the communication device in the access network, and a second core network node that processes data packets to and from the communication device.

A method for time-domain allocation of radio resources in a communication system using beamforming comprises obtaining of a list of wireless devices to be served. Subcarriers and beam directions of a multi-directional beamform are allocated to wireless devices of the list. The beam direction for each wireless device covers a position of that wireless device. The number of allocable subcarriers is limited to fulfil a beam-forming power constraint. This beam-forming power constraint is that the total power of allocated subcarriers, when each allocated subcarrier provides a same effective isotropic radiated power density for a wireless device as would be provided by a single-directional beamform, is within a predetermined power budget.

Method and devices for communication utilizing beamforming

Embodiments of a method in a base station for precoding a downlink transmission are disclosed. In some embodiments, the method comprises obtaining, for a time instant k, an estimate of a channel matrix for a wireless channel for a downlink from the base station to a wireless device and projecting the estimate of the channel matrix onto one or more sets of spatial orthonormal functions, thereby obtaining respective sets of coefficients. The method further comprises, for each set of spatial orthonormal functions, filtering the set of coefficients for the time instant k based on a filtering parameter that is specific to a downlink channel to be transmitted. The method further comprises generating beamforming weights using the filtered set of coefficients for at least one of the sets of spatial orthonormal functions, and precoding the downlink channel using the beamforming weights.

Beamforming in cellular systems using the same feedback information for different physical channels

Embodiments herein relate to a method, performed by a network node, for handling of specific power reduction for a User Equipment (UE). The network node receives a message from the UE comprising an identification of a specific type of the UE. The network node obtains a reduced power applied by the UE corresponding to the received identification. The network node selects an allocation for transmissions from the UE, based on the reduced power applied by the UE. Embodiments herein further relate to a network node for performing the method for handling of specific power reduction for a UE.

Methods and devices for managing access priority of a wireless device

A network node determines a system load of the network node for the UE. When the UE is capable of receiving control information on EPDCCH, the system load is determined based on a first and a second system load metrics on a physical resource shared by PDSCH and EPDCCH, which first load metrics comprises a load due to EPDCCH and a load due to multiplexed PDSCH and which second load metrics comprises a load due to multiplexed EPDCCH and a load due to PDSCH. When the UE is not capable of receiving control information on EPDCCH, the system load is determined based on the first system load metrics on the physical resource shared by the PDSCH and EPDCCH and a third system load metrics on a physical resource for carrying PDCCH. The network node further determines whether or not to allocate resources to the UE based on the determined system load metrics.
