A microwave heater and a method of heating are provided. The microwave heater includes a non-modal interplate microwave applicator and may include a nonresonant enclosure. The non-modal interplate microwave applicator is configured to receive therein a load to be heated by microwaves radiated from the non-modal interplate microwave applicator.

Non-modal interplate microwave heating system and method of heating

The present invention relates to an apparatus and methods for performing chemical reactions. In particular, the present invention relates to an apparatus for heating chemical reaction mixtures. The apparatus applies one or more semiconductor based microwave generators making the apparatus suitable for parallel processing of chemical reaction mixtures. The invention further relates to methods for performing chemical reactions, e.g. methods for heating a plurality of samples simultaneously or sequentially, methods for monitoring a microwave heated chemical reaction, and methods where the optimum conditions with respect to parameters, such frequency and applied power can be determined for the system consisting of apparatus plus sample.

Microwave apparatus and methods for performing chemical reactions

A microwave heating device for heating load(s) and including a cylinder-shaped cavity enclosed by a periphery wall, the cavity is provided with a microwave feeding device. The heating device may have a dielectric wall structure arranged inside the cavity between the periphery wall and the load(s). The microwave feeding device may be arranged to generate a microwave field being an arch surface hybrid mode having TE and TM type properties inside the cavity to heat the load(s).

The present invention relates to conducting a plurality of chemical reactions in a system including an apparatus which provides energy for the chemical reactions, such as chemical reactions in organic synthesis, where a particular advantage is the use of predetermined reaction parameters corresponding to similar chemical reactions. The present invention also relates to a system for performing said method and to corresponding kits and software. The system comprises an apparatus which can provide energy for the chemical reactions, said apparatus comprising a reaction cavity and a liquid handler, and a parameter selecting unit having a user interface means, a search unit means, apparatus control unit means, and storage means for carrying a database.

Method for performing multiple chemical reactions and a kit and system therefor

An apparatus and method for heating a sample, such as chemical reaction mixtures are disclosed. The apparatus may include at least a microwave generator, a waveguide for guiding the generated microwaves to an applicator, and a deflector formed by a closed loop defining a plane. The deflector may have an inherent resonance frequency and a thickness in a direction normal to the plane. The deflector may be rotatable around an axis being at least substantially parallel to the plane, and positioned in the waveguide so as to form a resonant cavity with the sample and the waveguide applicator. The resonance conditions of the resonant cavity and the coupling factor of radiation from the waveguide to the cavity may be easily adjustable by rotating the deflector. The resonance conditions and the coupling factor may be adjusted in response to the dielectric properties of the sample in order to optimize the amount of absorbed power and thereby obtain control of the sample heating process.

Microwave heating apparatus

Microwave heating apparatus comprising an elongated dielectric microwave applicator with an axial TM type mode, said dielectric applicator is provided with a load chamber for a load to be heated, said load chamber is located in a centered axial position inside the applicator. Two microwave feeding points are arranged at a lower end of the applicator for feeding microwave energy in the axial direction of the applicator so that significant cross-talk between the applied microwaves is avoided.

Microwave apparatus and methods of performing chemical reactions

Microwave heating apparatus comprising a dielectric microwave applicator provided with a microwave coupling device adapted to feed microwave energy to the applicator. The applicator is provided with a load chamber extending coaxially with regard to the centre axis of the applicator from an upper end to a predetermined distance from a lower end of the applicator, the load chamber is adapted to receive a load to be heated. The dielectric applicator comprises two sections, an upper section provided with the load chamber and a lower section for impedance matching between the coupling device and upper section. In a preferred embodiment the lower section has an increasing cross-sectional area from the coupling device to the intersection to the upper section.

The present invention relates to an apparatus for heating a sample, such as chemical reaction mixtures, whose dielectric properties varies during the heating process.
