A robotic work tool () comprising a chassis () and a body (). The robotic work tool () further comprises at least one input unit () for receiving input data relating to an operation of the robotic work tool (), and at least one collision sensor arrangement () for detecting a direction of a movement of the chassis () with respect to the body (). The movement is indicative of a collision. The robotic work tool () further comprises at least one controller () for controlling operation of the robotic work tool (). The at least one controller () is configured to receive, from the at least one input unit (), said input data relating to the operation of the robotic work tool (). The at least one controller () is further configured to adapt a collision threshold based on said input data relating to the operation of the robotic work tool (). The collision threshold is related to said movement of the chassis () with respect to the body () detected by the at least one collision sensor arrangement ().

Robotic work tool and method for improved collision handling

The present disclosure relates to an articulated self-propelled robotic toolwith first and second platforms, each comprising a wheel setdriven by motors. A link arrangement connects the first platform to the second platform at a turning axis. A driving error is determined by recording a driving input to the motors and a resulting movement parameter, comparing the resulting movement with an estimated resulting movement which is based on the driving input. Slip is detected using the driving error.

A robotic vehicle may include a first chassis platform including a first wheel assembly, a second chassis platform including a second wheel assembly where the first and second chassis platforms are spaced apart from each other, and a combination linkage operably coupling the first and second chassis platforms. The combination linkage may be operably coupled to the first chassis platform via a first link and is operably coupled to the second chassis platform via a second link. The combination linkage employs at least two different coupling features to operably couple the first and second chassis platforms. The at least two different coupling features include at least any two among a fixed attachment, an attachment that enables rotation about a turning axis, and an attachment that enables pivoting about a pivot axis that is substantially perpendicular to the turning axis.
