The present invention relates to a trap () for bed bugs () comprising an inner element () having an outer surface () delimited by a first base () and a first top (), and an outer element () being hollow and having a second base () and a second top () delimiting an inner surface (). The outer element is positioned around the inner element with the second top adjacent the first top and the second base adjacent the first base, whereby a tapering space (), tapering towards the first top, is defined between the outer surface of the inner element and the inner surface of the outer element. The tapering space is accessible to bed bugs crawling on the outer surface of the inner element through a base opening defined between the outer surface of the inner element and the second base. An adhesive () is provided on at least part of the inner surface of the outer element for adhering to the dorsal side () of a bed bug crawling on the outer surface of the inner element. The invention further relates to a method of detecting and/or trapping bed bugs.

A roll for assembling a device () for detection and elimination of pest insects includes a wound up, continuous band of fibrous material, the band having a main portion () and a first flap folded thereover, wherein at least one aperture () is arranged in the main portion along at least part of the length of the continuous band, the face facing away from the first flap such that the adhesive strip completely covers over the at least one aperture, the aperture being at least partially filled with an insecticide in powder form. The roll may include a second flap, wherein the first flap and the second flap at least partially overlap and the second flap is sandwiched between the main portion and the first flap.

A device () for detection and elimination of pest insects includes a structure () having a main portion () adapted to engage with a supporting surface. The main portion has an associated edge (), the main portion partially engaging with the supporting surface. A first flap () is attached to the main portion, a first flap edge () being associated with the first flap. The edges () define an opening () for allowing entry of an insect such as a bed bug into an interior of the structure (). At least one aperture () is arranged in the main portion. A double-sided adhesive strip () has an upper face () arranged on a face of the main portion. The adhesive strip completely covers the face of the aperture. An insecticide () in powder form at least partially fills the at least one aperture arranged in the main portion.
