A method, system and network node are disclosed. According to one or more embodiments, a parent network node configured to communicate with a network node is provided. The parent network node is configured to, and/or includes a radio interface and/or includes processing circuitry configured to: enable a first timing configuration, wherein the first timing configuration enables downlink transmission timing for the network node to be aligned with the downlink transmission timing of the parent network node; and based on the first timing configuration, switch to a second timing configuration, wherein the second timing configuration enables uplink transmission timing of the network node to be aligned with the downlink transmission timing of the network node.

IAB Case-6 timing and adjustment

There is provided a method for resource coordination in a first donor Integrated Access Backhaul (IAB) node connected to a first parent IAB node which is connected to an IAB node, the IAB node further being connected to a second parent IAB node which is connected to a second donor IAB node. The method comprises: sending, to the second donor IAB node, an indication of a first resource configuration for the IAB node, the first resource configuration determined by the first donor IAB node; receiving, from the second donor IAB node, a request for a second resource configuration for the IAB node; and determining a resource configuration for the IAB node based at least on one of the first resource configuration and the second resource configuration.

Methods and nodes for IAB inter-donor multi-parent resource coordination

A method is disclosed—for a wireless communication device served by a network access node—of keeping a time reference at the wireless communication device. The wireless communication device is configured for operation according to at least first and second operational modes, the second operational mode having lower power consumption than the first operational mode. The method comprises (during operation according to the first operational mode) determining (for the second operational mode) desired timings of timing signals to be transmitted from the network access node, and transmitting a request signal to the network access node, wherein the request signal carries information of the desired timings of timing signals to be transmitted from the network access node. In some embodiments, the method further comprises receiving a response signal from the network access node, wherein the response signal carries information of actual timings of timing signals to be transmitted from the network access node. Corresponding method for a network access node, apparatuses, wireless communication device, network access node and computer program product are also disclosed.

Keeping a time reference

According to certain embodiments, a method performed by a wireless device comprises receiving Assisted-Global Navigation Satellite System (A-GNSS) information in system information broadcast by a network, receiving signals from a set of GNSS satellites (the set of GNSS satellites comprises at least three GNSS satellites), and determining a location of the wireless device using the A-GNSS information and information received in the signals from the set of GNSS satellites. The method further comprises determining Doppler time and frequency offsets compared to a network satellite. The Doppler time and frequency offsets are determined based on the location of the wireless device. The method further comprises initiating a connection process with the network satellite by transmitting a random access signal with pre-compensated time and frequency, the pre-compensated time and frequency based on the determined Doppler time and frequency offsets.

GNSS data in non-terrestrial network system information

A method () performed by a wireless device () includes obtaining a remaining service time (T) associated with a first satellite or first spot beam. Based on the remaining service time, the wireless device determines whether to initiate a connection with the first satellite or first spot beam.

Power efficient non-terrestrial network connection establishment

There is provided a reflection node for handling link failure towards a network node. The reflection node includes a controller for controlling a passive meta-surface having a controllable reflection angle for reflecting radio waves over a communication channel between a network node and a wireless device. The reflection node includes a transceiver unit for receiving instructions from the network node over a control channel. The transceiver unit is configured to determine a link failure event on the control channel between the reflection node and the network node. The controller is configured to, during the link failure event, control the reflection angle of the passive meta-surface using reflection settings specified by configuration data for reflecting the radio waves over the communication channel.

Handling of link failure between a reflection node and a network node

A method and network node having integrated access and backhaul (IAB) functionality are disclosed. According to one aspect, a network node determines information concerning at least one of: (i) an impairment of a first signal from a first integrated access backhaul node that is caused by a second signal from a second IAB node and (ii) an impairment of the second signal that is caused by the first signal. The network node further selects a multiplexing capability for the network node based at least in part on the determined information concerning at least one of the impairments and further multiplexes signals for the first and second IAB nodes using the selected multiplexing capability.

Method to determine the capability of simultaneous operation in IAB nodes

A technique for performing neighbor cell measurements for one or more cells of a cellular radio access network, RAN, is provided. As to a method aspect, a method () comprises or triggers a step of detecting () at least two neighbor cells of the RAN, wherein at least one of the detected neighbor cells is in a neighbor cell list, NCL, of the RAN, and wherein at least one of the detected neighbor cells Is not in the NCL of the RAN. The method () further comprises a step of measuring (), for each of one or more of the detected cells of the RAN, a measurement signal () from the respective cell. The method () still further comprises a step of estimating (), for each of the one or more of the detected cells of the RAN, a radio signal value based on the measured measurement signal () from the respective cell.

Technique for performing neighbor cell measurements

A method of over-the-air beamforming calibration is disclosed for a multi-antenna transceiver having a first plurality of antenna elements connected to respective transceiver chains. Beamforming calibration comprises determining respective beamforming calibration factors for the transceiver chains of the antenna elements of the first plurality. The method comprises determining a second plurality of measurement resources for calibration sounding, wherein the second plurality is smaller than the first plurality. The method also comprises (for each measurement resource of the second plurality) selecting one or more antenna elements of the first plurality for sounding signal transmission, wherein each antenna element of the first plurality is selected for one or more of the measurement resources of the second plurality. The method also comprises (using each measurement resource of the second plurality) overlappingly transmitting respective sounding signals by the selected one or more antenna elements. Corresponding apparatus, multi-antenna transceiver, wireless communication device and computer program product are also disclosed.

Over-the-air beamforming calibration

A method of a network node arranged for wireless communication with wireless communication devices is for transmission of a signal to the wireless communication devices. The method includes receiving, from another network node, a paging message intended for a wireless device belonging to a first group of wireless devices, determining, from the received paging message, a signal resource allocation and the group of the wireless device, determining a signal sequence based on the signal resource allocation and the group of the wireless device, and transmitting the signal comprising the determined signal sequence using the determined signal resource allocation. Methods for network nodes and wireless communication devices are disclosed, as well as network nodes and wireless devices, and computer programs therefor.

WUS signal design

A beamforming selection method of a first wireless communication node is disclosed. The method includes receiving first reference signaling, transmitted from a second wireless communication node using a first beamforming setting, generating a first channel estimate based on the first reference signaling, and transmitting, using a second beamforming setting, second reference signaling for reception by the second wireless communication node, wherein each coefficient of the second beamforming setting represents a complex conjugate of a corresponding component of the first channel estimate. In some embodiments, the method further includes iterating the receiving, generating, and transmitting steps until a stopping criterion is met. For example, the stopping criterion may include that a number of iterations performed equals a maximum number of iterations, and/or that a beamforming convergence criterion is met. Corresponding apparatus, wireless communication node and computer program product are also disclosed.

Beamforming setting selection

Embodiments include methods, performed by a network node in a wireless network, for signaling resynchronization signal (RSS) configurations of neighbor cells to one or more user equipment (UEs). Such methods include encoding a plurality of parameters of respective RSS configurations of one or more neighbor cells. For each particular neighbor cell, the parameters can include one or more RSS frequency locations and an RSS time offset for the particular neighbor cell, and the encoding can be based on a bitmap and a parameter associated with the particular neighbor cell (e.g., a physical cell ID). Such methods also include transmitting, to the one or more UEs, at least a portion of the encoded parameters of the respective RSS configurations of the neighbor cells. Embodiments also include complementary methods performed by UEs, as well as network nodes and UEs configured to perform such methods.

Methods to configure neighbor cell resynchronization signal (RSS) parameters

A method, controller and network node for using intelligent surfaces in a wireless communication system are disclosed. According to one aspect, method in a network node configured to communicate with a wireless device (WD), via a reconfigurable reflective surface, the reconfigurable reflective surface being controllable by a controller and being applied to a structure to controllably reflect signals exchanged between the network node and the WD. The method includes determining a configuration of the reconfigurable reflective surface associated with the WD, the determined configuration being associated with a particular reflection coefficient, transmitting to the controller of the reconfigurable reflective surface, an indication of the determined configuration, and receiving signals from the WD at least partially via reflection at the reconfigurable reflective surface.

Intelligent surfaces for use in a wireless communication system

Configuring each of two signals having a frequency bandwidth which is less than a system frequency bandwidth available to the network node for wireless transmissions. The method includes allocating a first signal of the two signals on a first time and frequency resource based on a configuration in which the first signal is included, allocating a second signal of the two signals on a second time and frequency resource based on the configuration, wherein frequency use of the second time and frequency resource is at least partly different from frequency use of the first time and frequency resource, and providing signalling for a wireless communication device enabling the wireless communication device to derive the first and second time and frequency resources. Allocating the first and second signals includes allocating another time and frequency resource adjacent in time or frequency to at least one of the first and the second signals.

Signal allocation in a carrier

Embodiments include methods for a user equipment (UE) to receive wake-up signals (WUS) from a network node in a radio access network (RAN) coupled to a core network (CN). Such methods include determining a WUS group assigned to the UE and a WUS resource associated with the assigned WUS group, based on the following: a paging probability (PP) indication assigned to the UE; a plurality of discontinuous reception (DRX) parameters; a mapping between a plurality of PP indication values and a plurality of available WUS groups; and a first identifier associated with the UE. Such methods also include, during a time period of the WUS resource, monitoring for a group WUS associated with the assigned WUS group.
