A lubricant composition is described. The novel lubricant composition has superior thermal stability, and can reduce the need to replenish the lubricant. The lubricant composition includes at least a soap component, a thickener component, an oil component, and a spherical polyolefin component (optionally Microthene). The spherical polyolefin component includes polyolefin microparticles.

Polyolefin compositions for grease and lubricant applications

A low density polyethylene composition characterized by having a density in range of 0.91 to 0.94 gm/cm, a melt index in the range of 1 to 5 g/10 minutes, a gel permeation chromatography branching index in the range of 1.2 to 1, a polydispersity index in the range of 3.5 to 7.5, a viscosity ratio in the range of 0.7 to 1, and a long chain branching frequency greater than zero at a log molecular weight (log(MW)) value in the range of 4 to 5.5. Film formed from the polyethylene compositions with favorable haze and gloss characteristics, and a process for forming such film, are also described.

Tie-layer adhesives having graft compositions for bonding to metal substrates is disclosed. The graft compositions are made up of the reaction product of a live, grafted polyolefin and an olefin elastomer. The grafted polyolefin is first made by heating a polyolefin and an unsaturated monomer. Further reaction of the live, grafted polyolefin with an olefin elastomer provides the graft composition. Grafting efficiency is boosted dramatically by the presence of the olefin elastomer and use of the additional reaction step. The graft composition, when formulated into a tie-layer adhesive provides improved bonding to metal substrates.

Tie layer adhesives having graft compositions for bonding to metal substrates

The present disclosure provides a polyolefin-based composition, suitable for use as a tie-layer adhesive composition, and a process for making the polyolefin-based composition. The polyolefin-based composition is made from and/or contains a grafted polyolefin copolymer composition, a base resin composition, and optionally, an additives composition. The grafted polyolefin copolymer composition is made from and/or contains a grafted polyolefin composition, an olefin elastomer composition, and a long-chain branched polyolefin composition. The grafted polyolefin is coupled to the olefin elastomer and the long-chain branched polyolefin.

The present disclosure relates to polyolefin-based compositions made from or containing (A) a butene-1 polymer grafted with an unsaturated monomer, (B) a second polyolefin polymer, and (C) an ethylene-propylene elastomer. In some embodiments, the polyolefin-based composition is further made from or contains an additives composition. In additional embodiments, the polyolefin-based composition is made from or contains a heterophasic polypropylene copolymer.

Polyolefin-based compositions, adhesives, and related multi-layered structures prepared therefrom

A polyolefin-based composition made from or containing (A) a first polymer composition made from or containing a polyolefin grafted with an unsaturated monomer, (B) a second polymer composition made from or containing a polyethylene, and (C) a third polymer composition made from or containing (i) a first polyisobutylene and (ii) a second polyisobutylene. The first polyisobutylene has a Viscosity Average Molecular Weight (VAMW), and the second polyisobutylene has a Viscosity Average Molecular Weight (VAMW), wherein VAMW&#x2260;VAMW. The polyolefin-based composition is useful as an adhesives or a tie-layer adhesive composition for multi-layered structures. In particular, the composition is useful as an adhesive to bind a metal layer to a dissimilar substrate.

Polyolefin-based compositions having polyisobutylenes, adhesives, and related multi-layered structures thereof

The present disclosure provides a polyolefin-based composition suitable for use as adhesives and/or tie-layer adhesive compositions as well as a multi-layered structure made from and/or containing the polyolefin-based composition. The polyolefin-based composition is made from and/or contains (a) a grafted polyolefin composition, (b) a first polymer composition, (c) a polypropylene-containing blend composition, and (d) optionally, an additives composition having one or more additives.

The tie-layer composition includes: (1) 25 to 75 wt. %, based upon the total weight of the tie-layer composition, of a first copolymer, wherein the first copolymer comprises ethylene derived units and units derived from a C&#x3b1;-olefin; (2) 5 to 25 wt. %, based upon the total weight of the tie-layer composition, of a polyethylene resin grafted with an ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid or acid derivative; (3) 20 to 50 wt. %, based upon the total weight of the tie-layer composition, of a triblock copolymer composition; and (4) optionally, 0.001 to 20 wt. %, based upon the total weight of the tie-layer composition, of a low density polyethylene.

Tie-layer adhesives for styrenic multi-layer structures

The present disclosure provides a polyolefin-based composition made from or containing (A) a first grafted polyolefin composition, (B) a second grafted polyolefin composition made from or containing a first metallocene-catalyzed linear low density polyethylene grafted with an unsaturated monomer, (C) a second metallocene-catalyzed linear low density polyethylene composition, (D) a Ziegler-Natta-catalyzed linear low density polyethylene composition, (E) an elastomeric composition made from or containing (i) an elastomeric ethylene copolymer and (ii) an ethylene-propylene elastomer, and (F) a tackifier composition. Optionally, the polyolefin-based composition may be further made from or contain an additives composition. The polymeric composition is suitable for use as a tie-layer adhesive composition.

The present disclosure provides a polyolefin-based composition suitable for use as adhesives and/or tie-layer adhesive compositions as well as multi-layered structures made from and/or containing the polyolefin-based composition. The polyolefin-based composition is made from and/or contains (a) a grafted polyolefin composition, (b) a linear low density polyethylene composition made from and/or containing metallocene-catalyzed linear low density polyethylene having a melt index from about 2 to about 10 grams per 10 minutes, (c) an elastomer composition made from and/or containing an polyethylene elastomer, (d) a hydrocarbon-based tackifier, and (e) optionally, an additives composition having one or more additives.
