A driving supporting apparatus comprising a first sensor that detects an object present outside of a vehicle based on a reflection of a radio wave that the first sensor radiates, a second sensor that detects a boundary structural object positioned at a boundary between a road area on which the vehicle can travel and an area other than the road area, and a control unit configured to perform a pre-crash control to avoid a collision between the vehicle and a recognized object that is the object detected by the first sensor. The control unit is configured to make a possibility that the pre-crash control is performed when a far-side position condition to be satisfied when the recognized object is located at a far side of the boundary structural object with respect to the vehicle is satisfied lower than when the far-side position condition is not satisfied.

A driving support apparatus comprises a sensor for detecting an object, and a controller for prohibiting a collision control when an override condition is satisfied. The controller executes the collision control in a case where the override condition is satisfied during an erroneous operation, determines that an acceleration operation is the erroneous operation in a case where a predetermined normal erroneous operation condition is satisfied, or in a case where a predetermined relaxation erroneous operation condition is satisfied when a predetermined relaxation condition is satisfied, and determines that the relaxation condition is satisfied when a number of executions of the collision control during the erroneous operation in one trip is greater than or equal to a first threshold number or when a number of determinations that the acceleration operation is the erroneous operation in one trip is greater than or equal to a second threshold number.

An alert apparatus starts alerting a driver of a host vehicle, when an oncoming vehicle, that is an other vehicle traveling in an oncoming lane with respect to a traveling lane in which the host vehicle is traveling so as to approach the host vehicle and that is predicted to pass through on a specific direction side with respect to a current position of the host vehicle, is present, a turn signal indicator of the host vehicle corresponding to the specific direction side is being operated, and it is likely that the host vehicle starts turning to the specific direction side.

A vehicle collision avoidance assist apparatus executes a collision avoidance control for avoiding a collision of an own vehicle with an object ahead of the own vehicle. The apparatus determines whether a driver of the own vehicle has a collision self-avoidance probability that the driver can avoid the collision of the own vehicle with the object ahead of the own vehicle by carrying out a driving operation to the own vehicle. When the apparatus determines that the driver does not have the collision self-avoidance probability, the apparatus sets a start timing of starting executing the collision avoidance control to a timing earlier than the start timing set when the apparatus determines that the driver has the collision self-avoidance probability.

A drive assistance device includes an automatic brake unit configured to perform automatic brake control, a brake hold unit configured to perform a brake hold control keeping the vehicle stopped, a brake hold cancel unit configured to cancel the brake hold control when it is determined that a predetermined cancel condition is satisfied, a surroundings information obtaining unit configured to obtain surroundings information indicating a situation around the vehicle, a maneuver information obtaining unit configured to obtain maneuver information about a driving maneuver performed by a driver of the vehicle, a maneuver determination unit configured to determine, based on the surroundings information and the maneuver information whether the driving maneuver performed during the brake hold control is appropriate for the situation around the vehicle, and a prohibition unit configured to prohibit cancelling the brake hold control as long as it is determined that the driving maneuver is inappropriate.

A vehicle collision avoidance assist apparatus executes a steering avoidance control of setting an avoidance route for avoiding the collision of the own vehicle with the object in a lane in which the own vehicle moves and executing an avoiding steering process of forcibly steering the own vehicle so as to move the own vehicle along the avoidance route when an index value representing a probability of collision of an own vehicle with an object ahead of the own vehicle becomes equal to or greater than a predetermined index value. The apparatus stops an execution of the steering avoidance control when a departing amount of the own vehicle from the avoidance route becomes equal to or greater than a predetermined departing amount while the electronic control unit executes the steering avoidance control. The predetermined departing amount is set for each of sections of the avoidance route.

A collision avoidance assist apparatus executes an emergency steering control including processes to determine a target steering torque used to change a steering angle to avoid a collision of a vehicle with an obstacle so as not to move the vehicle out of a moving lane when the vehicle has a high probability of colliding with the obstacle, and the moving lane is a straight lane, and applies a steering torque corresponding to the determined target steering torque to a steering mechanism. The collision avoidance assist apparatus stops executing the emergency steering control when determining that the moving lane is a curved lane, based on only one of left and right lane markings at an avoidance side of the obstacle which is the left or the right side of the obstacle which the vehicle passes over while executing the emergency steering control.

Collision avoidance assist apparatus

An alert apparatus sets a determination area which is at a turning direction side of an own vehicle with respect to a longitudinal direction line of the own vehicle and extends forward from the own vehicle or from near the own vehicle when an angle condition that a moving direction angle corresponding to an angle defined by a longitudinal direction line of the own vehicle and a moving direction of an approaching vehicle is within a predetermined angle range, is satisfied. The alert apparatus sets the determination area which is at the turning direction side of the longitudinal direction line and away forward from the own vehicle by a predetermined distance when the angle condition is not satisfied.
