One method for proactive network testing includes receiving, by a test controller and via a network tap, at least one metric associated with live network traffic; determining, by the test controller and using the at least one metric and a threshold value associated with the at least one metric, that a network test is to be performed; configuring, by the test controller, a first test agent to execute the network test; and executing, by the first test agent, the network test.

A method for intelligent network topology mapping includes identifying network paths between a source and a destination, wherein identifying the network paths includes, for a hop in network topology: selecting a number of probe packets for revealing an expected number of next hops reachable from the hop; maintaining a list of flows reaching the hop; selecting, from the list, flow parameters for each of the probe packets; generating the number of probe packets and including the selected flow parameters in the probe packets; transmitting the number of probe packets to the hop; receiving responses to the probe packets; and recording network addresses of next hops revealed by the responses. The method further includes generating, from the network addresses of next hops, a network topology map illustrating the network paths.

One method for quiescence-informed network testing includes determining, by a first test agent, a quiescence state of the network. The subject matter described herein relates to methods, systems, and computer readable media for testing inter-cell interference coordination capabilities of wireless access nodes. One method for testing inter-cell interference mitigation capabilities of wireless access nodes includes, in a network equipment test device, emulating at least one user equipment (UE) served by a wireless access node under test. The method further includes emulating a wireless access node. The method further includes causing the emulated wireless access node to generate and send an indication of inter-cell interference to the wireless access node under test. The method further includes monitoring the response and evaluating the performance of the wireless access node under test to the indication of inter-cell interference using the network equipment test device.

Methods, systems, and computer readable media for testing inter-cell interference coordination capabilities of wireless access access nodes

According to one aspect, the disclosed subject matter describes herein a system that includes a mobile robotic platform for navigating within a coverage area associated with an access point belonging to a communications network under test, wherein the mobile robotic platform includes a client device emulation module configured to emulate multiple client devices that are wirelessly connected to the access point and to send emulated test traffic data to the access point from each of the emulated client devices via a wireless connection. The mobile robotic platform also includes a real client device that includes a client application configured to communicate simulated test traffic data to the access point via an established wireless connection and a performance metrics module configured to determine wireless communication performance metrics associated with the wireless connection between the access point and at least one of the real client device or the emulated client devices.

According to one method, the method includes storing a plurality of system level metrics associated with various channel conditions. The method further includes for each of a plurality of user devices or simulated user devices during a test period: identifying, using information about the received data and a precomputed channel type configuration, a first system level metric from the plurality of system level metrics, and providing the first system level metric to the DUT.

According to one method, the wireless communications network data analyzer receives downlink data generated by a wireless access node. The wireless communications network data analyzer extracts uplink data decode keys from the downlink data. The wireless communications network data analyzer stores the uplink data decode keys. The wireless communications data analyzer captures uplink data and decodes the uplink data using the stored uplink data decode keys.
