A photographic system includes a photographic film having a film ID number thereon; a receipt provided with the photographic film, the receipt being imprinted with a uniform resource locator for acquiring an image on the film via the Internet, and an associated password; a scanner for scanning the film after processing to generate a digital image; means for associating the film ID number with the digital image; a digital image storage device for storing the digital image, a web server connected to the digital image storage device, having means for accessing the digital image using the uniform resource locator; a database accessible by the web server having stored therein the film ID number and the associated password; and wherein the means for accessing the digital image is password protected and accessible by use of the password.

A photographic system includes a photographic film having a unique identification code thereon. An identification tag is included with the photographic film; the identification tag bears a uniform resource locator that includes the unique identification code, and an associated password. The film is scanned after processing to generate a digital image and the unique identification code is associated with the digital image and stored in a digital storage device. A web server connected to the digital image storage device includes a resource identified by the uniform resource locator for accessing the digital image. A database accessible by the web server contains the unique identification code and the associated password wherein the resource is password protected and accessible by use of the password.

The imager includes a semiconductor substrate having a top surface. A plurality of depressions is formed in the top surface of the substrate, and a plurality of spaced image pixels is formed in the substrate under the depressions. The imager further includes a plurality of first cylindrical substrate lenses having top surfaces. Each lens is formed in the depression corresponding to an underlying image pixel, with the top surface of each lens being optically coplanar with the top surface of the substrate. A method of making an imager includes the following steps: providing a semiconductor substrate having a top surface; providing a plurality of spaced image pixels h the substrate, thereby forming a semiconductor portion; and depositing a first transparent substantially inorganic support layer over the semiconductor portion. The method further includes the following steps: making the inorganic support layer optically planar by chemical mechanical polishing, thereby forming an optically flat top surface; forming a plurality of depressions in the optically flat top surface; uniformly depositing a substantially inorganic lens material on the optically flat top surface, entirely filling the depressions; and making the substantially inorganic lens material optically planar by chemical mechanical polishing, thereby forming an optically planar lens surface.

A film cartridge comprises a housing having a film exit slit, and a film roll support rotatable inside the housing to unwind a filmstrip beginning with a film leader having several frame lengths from the film roll support to allow the film leader to be moved outwardly through the slit to accomplish film loading in a camera. A visible film-loaded indicator is located to be seen through a window in a camera. A cover strip covers the indicator to prevent the indicator from being seen. A tether has a forward portion located at the slit for releasably engaging the film leader and a rearward portion releaseably engaging the cover strip. An engageable portion is located on the film leader for engagement with the forward portion of the tether as the film leader is moved outwardly through the slit, to make the tether move with the film leader to draw the cover strip off the indicator when the film leader is moved out of the housing sufficiently to accomplish film loading in a camera. A return spring urges the tether to disengage its forward portion from the engageable portion of the film leader and its rearward portion from the cover strip after the cover strip is drawn off the indicator.

A film cartridge comprises a housing having a film exit slit, and a film roll support rotatable inside the housing to unwind a filmstrip beginning with a film leader having several frame lengths from the film roll support to permit the film leader to be moved outwardly through the slit to accomplish film loading in a camera. A visible film-loaded indicator is located on the exterior of the housing to be seen through a window in a camera. A flexible cover strip has an opaque portion covering the film-loaded indicator to prevent the indicator from being seen and a film engaging portion located at the slit. Engageable means is located on the film leader for engagement with the film engaging portion as the film leader is moved outwardly through the slit, to make the opaque portion be drawn off the film-loaded indicator to uncover the indicator when the film leader is moved out of the housing sufficiently to accomplish film loading in a camera.

A film cartridge comprises a housing with a film exit slit, and a film roll support rotatable inside the housing to unwind a filmstrip beginning with a film leader to permit the film leader to be moved outwardly through the slit to accomplish film loading in a camera. According to one feature of the invention a protective strip is provided with a length and a width dimensioned to permit the protective strip to completely cover a non-emulsion side of successive frames of the filmstrip when individual ones of the frames are positioned outside the housing for exposure in a camera. The protective strip has a forward end portion releaseably secured to the film leader and a trailing end portion permanently secured to the housing to make the film leader first pull the protective strip onto the non-emulsion side of the filmstrip as the film leader is moved outwardly through the slit and then disconnect from the protective strip as the film leader is moved further from the housing, in order that the protective strip will remain on the non-emulsion side of the filmstrip to shield the non-emulsion side of individual ones of the frames when individual ones of the frames are positioned outside the housing for exposure in a camera. According to another feature of the invention the film cartridge includes a visible film-loaded indicator located on the housing to be seen through a window in a camera, and the protective strip is originally covering the film-loaded indicator but is pulled off the film-loaded indicator when it is pulled onto the non-emulsion side of the filmstrip as the film leader is moved outwardly through the slit.

A method where WSi.sub.x films are used to contact heavily doped, n.sup.+ regions in a silicon substrate. The doped regions are formed by ion implantation of an impurity such as arsenic (As).
