A safety system for a vehicle, having an adjustable headrest with a belt guide. The belt guide realigns the path of travel of a torso belt of a vehicle. The adjustable headrest provides head support to smaller sized passengers while also positioning the torso belt for the smaller sized passenger.

Method and apparatus for an adjustable safety system for a vehicle

A door mounted side restraint system is provided. The door mounted side restraint system includes an air bag module and a retention mechanism. The air bag module includes an inflatable cushion and an inflator in fluid communication with the inflatable cushion. The inflator is activatable to inflate the inflatable cushion. The retention mechanism includes a retention strap and a tensioning device. The retention strap is connected to the inflatable cushion and is deployable across a side window of a vehicle such that a tarp-like effect is provided to the inflatable cushion by the retention strap.

Door mounted side restraint

A frontal air bag system for a vehicle including an inflator mounted to vehicle structure and a frontal air bag operatively connected to the inflator and mounted to an A-pillar and header of the vehicle. The frontal air bag system also includes a wrap air bag at least partially continuous with the frontal air bag. The frontal air bag and the wrap air bag are mounted to an A-pillar of the vehicle. The frontal air bag and the wrap air bag are inflated by the inflator and the frontal air bag is extended downward and in front of an occupant seated in the vehicle and the wrap air bag is extended above the frontal air bag.
