A method of synthesising a molecular sieve of DDR framework type. The method comprises: preparing a synthesis mixture capable of forming a molecular sieve of DDR framework type, said synthesis mixture comprising water, a silicon source, optionally a source of a trivalent element X, optionally a source of a pentavalent element Z, optionally a source of hydroxide ions, optionally a source of a metal cation M, a structure directing agent, and seed crystals having a framework type selected from CHA and LEV; said synthesis mixture being substantially free from fluoride ions; heating said synthesis mixture under static crystallization conditions for a time sufficient to form crystals of said molecular sieve of DDR framework type, said crystallization conditions including a temperature of from 100&#xb0; C. to 220&#xb0; C.; and, recovering said crystals of the molecular sieve of DDR framework type from the synthesis mixture.

Process for making molecular sieves

Described herein are polymer compositions comprising a polymer and a molecular sieve having a framework type of AEL, AFO, EUO, FER, HEU, MEL, MTW, MTT, MFI, OFF, or TON. The present polymer composition comprises a toluene content of less than 1.0 mg/mand a C-Cvolatile organic compounds content of less than 3.0 mg/m. Described herein also are a method of reducing the toluene content contained in polymers.

Embodiments of the invention provide processes for catalytically converting oxygenates to hydrocarbon products having an increased C-Caromatics content therein. Particular processes include (a) providing a first mixture comprising &#x2267;10.0 wt. % of at least one oxygenate, based on the weight of the first mixture; (b) contacting the first mixture with a catalyst to convert the first mixture to a product stream including water, one or more hydrocarbons, hydrogen, and one or more oxygenates, wherein the catalyst comprises at least one molecular sieve and at least one element selected from Groups 2-14 of the Periodic Table and the hydrocarbons comprise &#x2267;30.0 wt. % of aromatics, based on the weight of the hydrocarbons in the product stream; and (c) separating from the product stream at least one water-rich stream, at least one aromatic-rich hydrocarbon stream, and at least one aromatic-depleted hydrocarbon stream.

Process for converting oxygenates to aromatic hydrocarbons

In a feed clean-up process at least two adsorbents () are installed in front of an oligomerization reactor (). Olefin feed is sent over one adsorbent () and the nitrile poisons are adsorbed so that clean feed will enter the reactor (). Before the adsorbent () will be saturated, the feed () is sent to the other, fresh adsorbent (). At the same time oligomerization product from the reactor () is used to desorb nitriles from the spent adsorbent ().

The present invention provides an olefin oligomerization process comprising the steps of: i) reducing the level of acetonitrile in an olefin feed by contacting the feed with a non-zeolitic metal oxide; and ii) contacting the olefin feed with reduced level of acetonitrile with an olefin oligomerization catalyst under conditions suitable to oligomerize the olefin.

This disclosure relates to a process for polymerization comprising providing a recycle stream, wherein the recycle stream comprises one or more Cto Cconjugated or non-conjugated diene monomers and one or more Cto Coxygenates. The recycle stream is contacted with an adsorbent bed to produce a treated recycle stream; wherein the adsorbent bed comprises at least two adsorbents to remove quenching agent and Cto Coxygenates.

Mitigation of catalyst inhibition in olefin polymerization

Methods are provided for synthesizing ZSM-58 crystals with an improved morphology and/or an improved size distribution. By controlling the conditions during synthesis of the ZSM-58 crystals, crystals of a useful size with a narrow size distribution can be generated. Additionally, by controlling the ratio of water content to silica content in the synthesis mixture, it has unexpectedly been found that ZSM-58 crystals can be formed with an improved morphology. The improved morphology can result in ZSM-58 crystals with a more uniform size across the various dimensions of the crystal, which allows for more uniform diffusion within the crystal. This is in contrast to conventionally synthesized crystals, where the size of the crystal can vary along different axes of the crystals.

A method of preparing a silicoaluminophosphate molecular sieve which comprises the steps of combining a source of silica, a source of phosphorous, a source of alumina and water to form a primary mixture; adding a structure directing agent to said mixture and optional seeds to form a synthesis mixture. The synthesis mixture is synthesized by heating the mixture to a crystallization temperature to form the sieve. The molar ratio of the structure directing agent relative to the source of alumina may vary between 1.3 and 1.9 and the ratio of water to the source of alumina may vary between 20 to 34.

Method of preparing a molecular sieve and its use in the conversion of oxygenates to olefins

In a method of synthesizing a silicoaluminophosphate molecular sieve having 90+% CHA framework-type character, a reaction mixture is prepared comprising sources of water, silicon, aluminum, and phosphorus, as well as an organic template. In one aspect, the reaction mixture is heated at more than 10&#xb0; C./hour to a crystallization temperature and is retained at the crystallization temperature or within the crystallization temperature range for a crystallization time from 16 hours to 350 hours to produce the silicoaluminophosphate molecular sieve. In another aspect, the reaction mixture is heated at less than 10&#xb0; C./hour to a crystallization temperature from about 150&#xb0; C. to about 225&#xb0; C. and is then retained there for less than 10 hours to produce the silicoaluminophosphate molecular sieve. The molecular sieve can then be recovered from the reaction mixture and, preferably, used in a hydrocarbon conversion process, such as oxygenates to olefins.

Synthesis of chabazite-containing molecular sieves and their use in the conversion of oxygenates to olefins

A crystalline molecular sieve comprises at least [AlO4] and [PO4] tetrahedral units and comprising a first framework structure defining a first set of uniformly distributed pores having an average cross-sectional dimension of from about 0.3 to less than 2 nanometers and further comprising a second framework structure defining a second set of uniformly distributed pores having an average cross-sectional dimension of from 2 to 50 nanometers. The first framework structure is preferably of the CHA framework type.

Molecular sieves having micro and mesoporosity, their synthesis and their use in the organic conversion reactions

In a method of synthesizing a mostly CHA-type silicoaluminophosphate sieve, a reaction mixture comprises sources of water, silicon, aluminum, phosphorus, and a template. In one aspect, the inorganic phosphorus and silicon sources are first combined to form a primary mixture that is aged. Then, the aluminum source is added, followed optionally by any organic phosphorus source, and then the template, to form the synthesis mixture. After heating at &#x3c;10&#xb0; C./hr to induce crystallization, in this aspect, both the crystallized sieve has an average crystal size &#x2266;1.5 &#x3bc;m and/or is recovered in a yield of &#x2267;10.0 wt %. In another aspect, when the synthesis mixture Si/Alratio is &#x3c;0.33, crystallization is induced. Advantageously, the sieve so crystallized has a template efficiency of &#x2267;0.5 and/or is recovered in a yield of &#x2267;10.0 wt %. The molecular sieve from both aspects can be used in a hydrocarbon (oxygenates-to-olefins) conversion process.

In a method of synthesizing a silicoaluminophosphate molecular sieve having 90%+CHA framework type character, a reaction mixture is prepared comprising first combining a reactive source of aluminum with a reactive source of phosphorus to form a primary mixture that is aged. A reactive source of silicon and a template for directing the formation of the molecular sieve can then be added to form a synthesis mixture. Crystallization is then induced in the synthesis mixture. Advantageously, (i) the source of silicon comprises an organosilicate, (ii) the source of phosphorus optionally comprises an organophosphate, and (iii) the crystallized silicoaluminophosphate molecular sieve has a crystal size distribution such that its average crystal size is not greater than 5 &#x3bc;m. The molecular sieve can then preferably be used in a hydrocarbon (oxygenates-to-olefins) conversion process.
