The present disclosure provides a chassis housing an increased density of smaller storage devices. The chassis houses one or more power supplies, one or more input/output modules, and hot swappable, front accessible field replaceable units. The field replaceable units have a depth that is greater than their width and height, so as to accommodate dual storage devices one in front of the other. The proximal storage device connects to a midplane of the chassis via an interposer card situated between the proximal and distal storage devices. The interposer card conditions any signals that exhibit signal integrity problems after traversing between the midplane and the interposer card. The interposer card connects to the midplane via a bridge card and a flexible connector running underneath the distal storage device. Each field replaceable unit is placed into the front end of the chassis in a vertical orientation with respect to the chassis.

High density storage device system

Systems and techniques for cancelling fan noise by providing an anti-noise waveform are disclosed. In some embodiments, the systems and techniques include receiving, at a fan, a pulse width modulated signal from a power supply. A fan blade of the fan is rotated at a spin speed that is measured by a first sensor. A second sensor detects a position of the fan blade. Based on the spin speed and the position, an anti-noise waveform is generated that is configured to cause destructive interference with a fan noise of the fan. An audio signal is output that corresponds to the anti-noise waveform to cause destructive interference with noise caused by the spinning blades of the fan.

Storage system with noise reduction

A method and system for providing a customized storage container includes a generally rectangular housing and at least one printed circuit board contained within the rectangular housing. The customized storage container encloses a first row of interconnector modules that are positioned adjacent to a first, open end of the rectangular housing. The customized storage container also encloses a second row of interconnector modules positioned adjacent to the first, open end of the rectangular housing. At least one air vent is positioned along a side of the rectangular housing and adjacent to a second, closed end of the rectangular housing. According to one exemplary embodiment, the storage container can comprise a single printed circuit board for supporting the first and second row of interconnector modules. In another exemplary embodiment, the storage container can comprise two printed circuit boards for supporting the first and second rows interconnector modules.

Method and system for providing a customized storage container

Apparatus and systems for improved access to storage devices from the sides of sleds mounted in storage enclosures. Embodiments provide apparatus and systems for a sled in a storage enclosure that provides access to storage devices on either side of the sled when the sled is slid forward out of its enclosure. Multiple sleds may be enclosed within a single enclosure to permit access to a portion of the storage devices in the enclosure hence reducing the problems of instability of the rack if the enclosure is mounted near the top of the rack.
