The presently disclosed embodiments relate in general to electrophotographic imaging members, such as layered photoreceptor structures, and processes for making and using the same. More particularly, the embodiments pertain to an improved photoreceptor that exhibits little to no response to injected charges and demonstrates excellent ghosting properties.

Photoconductors and processes thereof

A photoconductor that includes a supporting substrate, a first photogenerating layer, a second photogenerating layer and at least one charge transport layer. The first photogenerating layer contains, for example, a phthalocyanine pigment, and the second photogenerating layer contains a different phthalocyanine pigment than the first photogenerating layer phthalocyanine.

Photoconductors

The presently disclosed embodiments are directed to charge transport layers useful in electrostatography. More particularly, the embodiments pertain to an improved electrostatographic imaging member having a charge transport layer that is dual-dopant, wherein operating life improvement is achieved by incorporating a small amount of compatible thermalsetting resin and polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane into the layer. Incorporation of these resins have been shown to increase charge transport life.

Imaging member

An imaging member including a substrate; thereover a charge generating layer; thereover a first charge transport layer comprising a small molecule charge transport material and a polymeric component selected from the group consisting of polyarylamine polyester, polyacylamine, and mixtures and combinations thereof; and a second charge transport layer disposed over the first charge transport layer, the second charge transport layer comprising a small molecule charge transport material and a binder, wherein the second charge transport layer is free of polyarylamine polyester and polyacylamine.

Imaging members and process for preparing same

An electrophotographic imaging member includes a substrate, a charge generating layer, a charge transport layer, and an overcoating layer, where the overcoating layer includes a terphenyl arylamine dissolved or molecularly dispersed in a polymer binder.

A photoconductive imaging member containing an optional supporting substrate, an optional hole blocking layer thereover, a photogenerating layer and a charge transport layer, and wherein the charge transport layer contains a phenol of, for example, the alternative formulas 

Imaging member having first and second charge transport layers

The amount of lateral charge migration (LCM) on a photoreceptor is quantified by measuring the average potential of a latent image formed on the photoreceptor surface. The surface is first uniformly charged, then exposed a first time to an image. After a waiting period during which LCM may occur, the surface is exposed a second time to the image. After another waiting period, the average potential is measured. The amount of LCM may be quantified by varying the waiting periods.

Method for detecting lateral surface charge migration through double exposure averaging

A weldable intermediate transfer belt having a substrate with a homogeneous composition of polyaniline in an amount of from about 2 to about 25 percent by weight of total solids, and a thermoplastic polyimide in an amount of from about 75 to about 98 percent by weight of total solids, and the polyaniline has a particle size of from about 0.5 to about 5.0 microns, and an apparatus for forming images on a recording medium and incorporating the intermediate transfer belt.
