Compositions comprising propylene-based elastomers, foamed layers made therefrom, and methods of making the same

Provided are blend compositions comprising a propylene-based elastomer and a polyalphaolefin. The blend compositions may be particularly useful in elastic film compositions, and especially useful as elastic film layers in nonwoven laminates. The film may comprise a blend of from about 0.5 to about 60 wt % of a polyalphaolefin and 40 to 99.5 wt % of a propylene-based elastomer. The film may comprise a blend of a propylene-base elastomer that comprises propylene and from 5 to 30 wt % of an &#x3b1;-olefin and a polyalphaolefin having a kinematic viscosity (KV) at 100&#xb0; C. of from 3 to 3000 cSt.

Polymer compositions and articles made therefrom

A film composition comprising one or more propylene-based polymers and one or more hydrocarbon resins, and methods for making the same are provided. The propylene-based polymer may have (i) 60 wt % or more units derived from propylene, (ii) isotactically arranged propylene derived sequences, and (iii) a heat of fusion less than 65 J/g. The hydrocarbon resin may have a glass transition temperature greater than 20&#xb0; C.

Elastic film compositions with improved tear resistance

Disclosed in one aspect is an anti-skid sheet comprising at least one contact layer selected from the group consisting of dynamically vulcanized alloys, propylene-&#x3b1;-olefin copolymers, and blends thereof; and at least one substrate layer comprising polyethylene having a density of from greater than 0.935 g/cm. In one embodiment, the dynamically vulcanized alloy comprises a blend of one or more polyolefins and an at least partially vulcanized rubber. Disclosed in another aspect is a method of forming the anti-skid sheet comprising providing a melt-blending extruder for each of the sheet layers, at least one substrate layer as disclosed herein and at least one contact layer as disclosed herein, and co-extruding a melt of each component to form a co-extruded sheet. In a particular embodiment, the anti-skid sheet is thermoformed to form an article.
