The present application pertains to a coiled tubing injector system. The system comprises a coiled tubing injector; an injector tilt configured to be mounted to a trailer wherein the injector tilt is configured to receive the coiled tubing injector; a securing mechanism to secure the coiled tubing injector to the injector tilt; and a sensor configured to detect whether the securing mechanism is positioned to substantially secure the coiled tubing injector to the injector tilt. Advantageously, the system is configured such that the injector can only be tilted if the sensor detects that securing mechanism is positioned to substantially secure the coiled tubing injector to the injector tilt.

Injector tilt safety method and apparatus

The present invention pertains novel coiled tubing units and methods of stabbing. The coiled tubing unit has a tubing reel; a tubing guide operably connected to the tubing reel; and an injector operably connected to the tubing guide. A method of controlling rates of moving a coiled tubing string in a wellbore includes providing an injector head control system for moving a bottom hole assembly at an end of the coiled tubing string in the wellbore, that maintains operating settings of the injector head if the control system determines that the bottom hole assembly is moving in the wellbore within a range of rates, and varies operating settings of the injector head if the control system determines that the bottom hole assembly is moving in the wellbore outside the range of rates, to thereby revert to moving the bottom hole assembly in the wellbore within the range of rates. The control system determines whether the bottom hole assembly is moving within or outside the range of rates based on one or more sources of feedback from both the bottom hole assembly and the injector head.

A mixing tank disposed onboard a unit for coiled tubing oilfield operations includes a mixing paddle within the mixing tank capable of agitating liquids therein, a water inlet capable of introducing water into the mixing tank and directing water flow toward the mixing paddle, and one or more chemical inlets capable of introducing one or more chemicals from chemical storage units into the mixing tank.

A coiled tubing unit includes a coiled tubing reel skid comprising a load supporting skid frame having a plurality of guide post sleeves and a reel skid landing platform comprising a plurality of guide posts that mate with the plurality of guide post sleeves, wherein mating of the guide posts with the guide post sleeves is configurable so that the coiled tubing reel skid is disposable at multiple positions on the landing platform. The coiled tubing unit is configurable for many different weight distribution requirements.
