A method and device for adapting a display image on a hand-held portable wireless display and digital capture device. The device includes a camera for capturing a digital video and/or still image of a user, means for adjusting the captured digital image in response to poor image capture angle of said image capture device so as to create a modified captured digital image; and means for transmitting said modified captured digital image over a wireless communication network to a second hand-held portable wireless display and digital capture device.

A system for testing one or more nozzles in a nozzle plate includes a fixture for holding the nozzle plate, a gas input device for jetting gas through the nozzle, and a first stationary schlieren optical system for producing a light-intensity representation of a gas stream jetted from the nozzle. An image capture device can capture one or more images of the light-intensity representation or the light-intensity representation can be projected onto a screen.

Testing of nozzles used in printing systems

A method for testing a nozzle in a nozzle plate includes jetting gas through the nozzle and forming one or more light-intensity representations of a gas stream jetted from the nozzle using at least one stationary schlieren optical system. One or more images can be captured of the one or more light-intensity representations of the gas stream jetted from the nozzle. Alternatively, respective light-intensity representations of the gas stream jetted from the nozzle can be projected onto a screen.

A method for testing a nozzle in a nozzle plate includes setting an angle of the nozzle plate with respect to an optical axis of a schlieren optical system to a first angle, jetting gas through the nozzle, forming a first light-intensity representation of the gas stream jetting from the nozzle using the schlieren optical system, and capturing a first image of the first light-intensity representation. The angle of the nozzle plate with respect to the optical axis of the schlieren optical system is then adjusted to a different second angle. A second light-intensity representation of the gas stream jetting from the nozzle is formed using the schlieren optical system and a second image of the second light-intensity representation is then captured. The first and second images can be analyzed to determine whether the nozzle is functioning properly.

An image capture and display device is described. The device includes a liquid crystal display panel, which can switch between two states, a display state and the capture state. Wherein at least a portion of the display and a switchable diffuser become transparent in the capture state. One or more image capture devices are located behind the display. Holes or windows are provided in the backlight for the image capture devices to capture images of the scene in front of the device when in the capture state.

A focus detection device includes an image sensor and a plurality of lenslets. Each of the plurality of lenslets has a distinct conjugate length and is associated with a distinct portion of the image sensor.

A method for operating an autofocus system for focusing an image on an electronic imager includes providing an adjustable lens system defining an optical path for scene light and having at least one movable lens to focus an image of the scene onto the electronic imager; and causing a first portion of the scene light to be obscured so that the electronic imager captures a first autofocus image and causing a second different portion of the scene light to be obscured so that the electronic imager captures a second autofocus image wherein portions of the first and second autofocus images are offset. The method further includes moving the movable lens to a position so that an image to be captured will be in focus.

The OPOhas a nonlinear crystalwithin cavityfor splitting a single input pump beaminto lower energy signal and idler beams. The method includes providing a cavity exit port for unconverted pump and generated idler beams, and absorbing unconverted beams in beam dump. The method includes athermalization by actively cooling surfaces used as an optics mounting base, and athermalization by constraining the size of cavityby using thermally stiff members, guiding pins or rails, or by using bimetallic materials with different expansion.
