A storage chest that converts into a table. The storage chest includes a cover that detaches from the storage unit and, when legs are added, converts to a table top. The cover/table top includes grooved slots for holding beverage containers. Table legs are stored within a storage compartment of the storage unit and attach to the table top to form the table. The storage and table unit further includes doors that detach from the storage unit and attach to the cover to form table top extensions. Thus, the storage and table unit conveniently stores and organizes items, and may also be used as a table for supporting food, beverages and other items.

Storage and table unit

A governor device for controlling the speed of rotary devices is disclosed. The governor device is a valve operated by centrifugal force to control a pressurized fluid through the nozzles of a turbine rotor. The valve comprises a rotary chamber having an opening outwardly of a resilient valve member therein, the resilient valve member being movable by centrifugal force to control flow through said annular chamber, said annular chamber being part of the passageway of the pressurized fluid flow through said turbine rotor nozzles.

Speed governed rotary device

A kite that is controllable from the ground by a control cord connected to the kite. The cord is connected to a control on the kite for moving a bridle loop which repositions the location of the connection of the cord to the bridle loop with relation to the kite. This movement of the bridle loop alters the flying attitude of the kite. The control includes a camming mechanism for moving the bridle loop in two steps between different positions through a control arm. The camming mechanism is actuated by a spring for the first step when tension on the control cord is released and by the force of the wind on the kite for the second step when the necessary tension is placed back in the control cord, said force of the wind also replacing energy in the spring for the next desired movement of the bridle loop.

Controllable kite

A yieldable knife meat tenderizing apparatus particularly for meat that contains bones and including a plurality of elongated knives each comprising a blade with a sharp meat penetrating and meat severing end and a piston on which a blade is mounted in substantial alignment. In order to provide the force yielding feature the apparatus also includes a transverse lock plate having openings through each of which a piston extends and cooperating friction jam means on the piston and the lock plate member having cooperating surfaces for jam locking each piston on the lock plate when the piston is forced into its opening but releasable by reverse movement under preselected reaction force on each piston created by the resistance to the blade entering the meat.

Meat tenderizing apparatus

A pressure gas engine such as a compressed air turbine having a variable speed device for controlling the speed of a rotor and also having an overspeed safety device to prevent damage to the engine in the case of excess speed through malfunction. The overspeed safety device includes speed responsive elements that force the rotor against braking elements that are successively operated to brake the rotor to a complete stop in successive gentle braking actions and with the speed responsive elements including means for preventing resumed rotation of the rotor until the engine has been partially dismantled and the cause of the malfunction corrected.
