In one example, a method rotating a turbine of the electric turbocharger in a reverse direction, the turbine being mechanically coupled to a compressor via a shaft. The rotation of the turbine may be adjusted based on a cold-start and/or engine operating conditions outside of the cold-start.

Methods and systems for an electric turbocharger

Methods and systems are provided for controlling LP-EGR flow in a variable displacement engine. In one example, a method may include providing a higher fixed LP-EGR percentage relative to a total intake air flow during a VDE mode, and providing a lower fixed EGR percentage relative to the total intake air flow during a non-VDE mode. Further, during a tip-out when operating in the VDE mode at a load below a threshold, transitioning out of the VDE mode after transitioning the LP-EGR from the higher fixed percentage to the lower fixed percentage.

Systems and methods for LP-EGR delivery in a variable displacement engine

Methods and systems are provided for estimating a positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) flow based on outputs of an intake manifold oxygen sensor. For example, during engine operation when exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) and fuel canister purge are disabled, PCV flow may be estimated based on a difference between a first output of the sensor with boost enabled and a second output of the sensor with boost disabled. Then, during subsequent operation wherein EGR is enabled, PCV flow is enabled, and purge is disabled, a third output of the sensor may be adjusted based on the estimated PCV flow.

Methods and systems for PCV flow estimation with an intake oxygen sensor

To compensate for possible corruption in exhaust gas recirculation control caused by fuel vapor purging, while still enabling the purging to continue, an engine intake oxygen concentration may be corrected based on a fuel canister vapor purge only during boosted conditions. Responsive to the intake oxygen concentration, exhaust gas recirculation may be adjusted.

Methods and systems are provided for providing auxiliary heat to a pre-compressor duct wall to reduce condensate formation. A coolant valve may control the delivery of heated engine coolant to the pre-compressor duct wall. The coolant valve may be adjusted based on condensate formation at the pre-compressor duct wall.
