Nonazide gas generating compositions are formed from a nonazide fuel, an oxidizer, and a heat absorbing additive in the form of a glass compound. The additive effects a reduction in the combustion temperature of the gas generant, thereby resulting in inflating gases having a reduced content of toxic gases such as NO.sub.x and CO. The gas generants are therefore nontoxic and useful for inflating a vehicle occupant restraint system.

A liner for a pipe comprises a pair of imperforate sleeves telescoped within one another and having a resin absorbant fiber mat and resin supply tube disposed therebetween. A polymerizable resin is injected between the sleeves through the resin supply tube. The resin tube may be withdrawn from the pipe. The liner is folded to a U-shaped cross section to facilitate insertion into the pipe.

A bolt is provided with a male thread, an end portion of which is of modified configuration, for acceptance in an element having a female thread of standard configuration. The modified portion of the male thread has a wedge ramp at the root thereof and a decreased pitch relative to the standard pitch of the thread on the female element which, in combination, results in optimum distribution of stress in the bolt as well as a prevailing torque relationship between the bolt and female element.

The disclosure relates to a blind plastic rivet having a fully polymerized head and shear portion and a partially polymerized head forming portion. The head forming portion is deformed upon heating due to tensioning of a centrally disposed mandrel thereby to form a blind rivet having a fully polymerized blind head.
