A light assembly is provided that includes a holder and multiple light pipes. The holder extends along a longitudinal axis between a first end and a second end. The holder includes multiple ridges that spiral around the longitudinal axis. The holder includes multiple channels. Each channel is defined between two of the ridges. The light pipes each include a light transmissive interior region. Each of the light pipes is disposed in one of the channels of the holder. The light pipes each have an attachment end that is configured to receive light from a light source. Each light pipe is further configured to transmit the light through the interior region for at least a length of the light pipe.

An electrical assembly configured to be fixed in a housing of an electrical connector includes an electrical package disposed on a substrate and electrically connected to the substrate. The electrical assembly also includes a conductor terminated to the substrate at a spaced apart location from the electrical package to provide at least one of power or control signals to the substrate. A terminating segment of the conductor is thermally coupled to the electrical package to receive heat generated at the electrical package and dissipate the heat through the conductor away from the electrical package.

A system configured to protect a load within a vehicle includes a plug subassembly and a sensor connector subassembly. The sensor connector subassembly is selectively connectable to the plug subassembly. A circuit board is secured within the sensor connector subassembly. The circuit board includes at least one positive temperature coefficient (PTC) device electrically connected between an activation switch and a load. The circuit board includes at least one circuit to protect against over-voltage or over-current to the load, detect a fault condition of the load, and determine whether the plug subassembly is connected to the sensor connector subassembly.

A position sensor measures a magnetic flux of a magnetic field produced by a magnet system in a first direction and a second direction. Values associated with the measured magnetic flux in the first direction are adjusted based on a first gain and a first offset that are determined based on the measured magnetic flux and a reference magnetic flux in the first direction. Values associated with the measured magnetic flux in the second direction are adjusted based on a second gain and a second offset that are determined based on the measured magnetic flux and a reference magnetic flux in the second direction. A position of the magnet system with respect to the position sensor at a given time may then be determined based on the adjusted values of the magnetic flux in the first and second directions at the given time.

A solid state pre-charge module includes a relay, a transistor connected to the relay and a solid state device connected to the transistor. The solid state device controls switching of the transistor.

A module assembly includes a component housing having a plurality of walls forming a cavity. At least one of the walls includes an opening therethrough open to the cavity. The heat transfer plate is mounted within the opening of the component housing and his exposed on an exterior of the component housing. A circuit for wetting relay contacts includes a relay having a relay coil, a movable contact and a stationary contact. The movable contact is movable between an open position and a closed position upon energizing of the relay coil, and the movable contact engages the stationary contact in the closed position. The movable contact is moved from the closed position to the open position when the relay coil is de-energized. A transistor is connected to the relay coil through a load, wherein the transistor loads the relay coil after the relay coil is de-energized to provide an arc between the movable contact and the stationary contact as the movable contact is moved from the closed position to the open position.

Circuit and method for wetting relay contacts

An electrical system includes a solid state relay () and an electrical connector () that connects solid state relay () to a load (). The solid state relay () includes a power MOSFET (Q) for switching power to the load (). A PNP transistor (Q) monitors the voltage drop across the power MOSFET (Q), and shuts the power MOSFET off when the voltage drop exceeds a reference level. The solid state relay circuitry floats when the power MOSFET is commanded OFF so there is no leakage to ground. The relay () can be used with an electrical connector that includes a short pin () or shunt () that is disconnected before male and female terminals () are unmated. Disconnection of the shunt () or the short pin () causes the power MOSFET to be commanded OFF so that there is no current flowing through the male and female terminals () when they reach an arc susceptible position. The solid state relay () and the connector () are suitable for use in a 42 Volt automotive electrical system.

A driver module is provided for controlling operation of a fuel pump of a vehicle. The driver module includes switching circuitry for switching transmission of electrical power to the fuel pump, and a processor for executing a series of programmable instructions for controlling the switching circuitry in accordance with at least one signal received from a restraint control module (RCM) of the vehicle.

An electrical connector and methods for minimizing arcing when the connector is connected or disconnected under load are disclosed. The invention provides an arc reduction circuit with one or more regulators, such as transistors, integrated into the connector housing that sense movement of the connector and shunt the current to an impedance circuit when a potential arc condition is sensed.

A circuit to suppress arc across contacts of a relay is provided, in which the relay is electrically coupled to a power supply and a load. The circuit includes an arc suppression circuit electrically coupled between the first and second contacts of the relay, and the arc suppression circuit includes a capacitor and a switch, both of which are electrically coupled to the first and second contacts of the relay, in which the switch is configured to turn on when the first and second contacts of the relay change state, thereby providing an alternate path for a current flow through the load.
