A pipe fitting assembly to allow for connecting of piping elements by inserting into the pipe fitting, and without the necessity of glued, soldered, or threaded connections. The fitting assembly can include a body element having an inlet and an outlet along a longitudinal axis. The body element can include a sealing recession and a retention recession. The fitting assembly can include a scaling ring to be inserted in the sealing recession, a spacer ring to also be inserted in the sealing recession, a grip ring to be inserted in the retention recession, or a retainer ring to be inserted in the retention recession and fixed to the body element.

Push-to-connect fitting systems and methods

Systems and methods described herein are directed to a sprinkler to provide fire protection. The sprinkler system can include a deflector portion, a head portion, a thermal trigger portion, a trigger seat, or a tubular outer structure. The tubular outer structure can define an internal water flow channel. The water flow channel can extend along a longitudinal axis between an inlet and an outlet. The trigger seat can include a tubular exterior. The tubular exterior can be coupled with the tubular outer structure. The trigger seat can include a component. The component can occlude a flow of fluid through the dry pendent sprinkler assembly. The component can maintain the thermal trigger portion in position. At least one portion of the tubular exterior of the trigger seat can protrude into the water flow channel at an angle towards the longitudinal axis.

Thermal trigger seat for sprinkler system

An injection mold for producing a sprinkler head part and related injection molding methods are described. The sprinkler head part includes a first, second, third and fourth mold portions. The first and second mold portions include first and second shaping elements structured to cooperatively form a body including a substantially cylindrical portion and a substantially planar portion, and two frame arms extending from the substantially planar portion of the body. The third mold portion includes a shaping element structured to form an orifice in the body of the sprinkler head. The fourth mold portion includes a shaping element structured to form a cross member connecting the two frame arms. The injection methods include injecting a composite material in molten form into the mold to form the molded sprinkler head part. The composite material includes thermoplastic polymeric resin and a plurality of reinforcing fibers dispersed in the resin.

A sprinkler adapter includes a first pipe receiver, a second pipe receiver, a channel, a first sprinkler port, and a second sprinkler port. The first pipe receiver couples with a first pipe. A sprinkler assembly that includes a frame having a body including an inlet, an outlet and an internal passageway extending between the inlet and the outlet to define a longitudinal sprinkler axis. Two frame arms extend distally from the body, and each arm has a portion defining a cross-sectional area with a lateral surface and a medial surface spaced about a first plane bisecting the body with the sprinkler axis disposed in the first plane. An axially aligned thermally responsive glass-bulb type trigger is disposed along the sprinkler axis. The cross-sectional areas of the frame arms are asymmetrical with respect to one another about the first plane and each cross-sectional area is asymmetric about a second plane perpendicular to the first plane. The lateral surface of each arm includes an undulation to provide the sprinkler assembly with substantially consistent thermal sensitivity about the sprinkler axis.

The tines include a first pair of symmetric tines and a second pair of symmetric tines disposed orthogonally to the first pair of symmetric tines. The plurality of slots includes a group of asymmetric slots each having a first portion with a constant width and a second portion with a variable width radially outward of the first portion of the asymmetric slot.
