The method may include authenticating a moment a secure maintenance device (SMD) is connected to a first device before a software-based communication is established, establishing a secure communication channel between the SMD and the first device, authenticating a user of the first device and determining access rights of the user using an identity of the first device; transmitting digitally signed updates from the SMD to the first device; receiving, at the SMD, digitally signed first data from the first device, performing diagnostic and maintenance functions at the first device, and exporting data from the first device to the SMD for mobile transfer to another platform.

Systems and methods are disclosed for providing secure remote software updates to a cyber-physical systems (CPS) device. The method may include receiving, at a first server, data used to update software of at least one CPS device, converting the data into a first format, establishing a secure connection between the first server and a second serve, transmitting the data in the first format from the first server to the second server, identifying each CPS device that is authorized to receive a software update, encrypting a software update package to ensure that the software update is decrypted by each CPS device that is authorized to receive the software update and is not decrypted by an CPS device that is not authorized to receive the software update, and transmitting the encrypted software update package to each CPS device.

For instance, the method may include: receiving an initial data measurement transmitted by the device, wherein the initial data measurement includes a measurement of data stored in the device using a unique key associated with the device; transmitting a request for a subsequent data measurement of data stored in the device; receiving the subsequent data measurement transmitted by the device; comparing the subsequent data measurement to the initial data measurement; and determining whether an anomaly exists in the data stored in the device based on the comparison.

Systems and methods are disclosed for providing a secure communication between a first network and a second network. The method may include receiving, at a Secure Access Smart Hub (SASH), a signal from the first network requesting a communication connection; establishing a first connection between the first network and the SASH; establishing a second connection between the SASH and the second network; receiving, at the SASH, data from the first network having a first protocol; translating the data having the first protocol into data having a second protocol; and transmitting the data from the SASH to the second network.
