In a method and control device for providing feedback to a vehicle occupant, a signal corresponding to current and/or upcoming movements of the vehicle is obtained when the vehicle is in an autonomous driving mode. The obtained signal is provided to a control device located within the cabin of the vehicle. The control device is moved corresponding to the provided signal. In an embodiment, an input of the occupant for an autonomous driving unit of the vehicle via the control device is received and a signal corresponding to the received input is submitted to the autonomous driving unit. The input may correspond to a maneuver request and/or to a selection of one of several autonomous driving-modes.

Method and control device for providing feedback to a vehicle occupant

A device is configured for setting at least three assistance function units that influence the speed of a motor vehicle. The assistance function units are selected from a group consisting of a speed maintaining assistance function unit, a predictive distance control assistance function unit, a speed limiting assistance function unit, and an uphill or downhill travel assistance function unit. The device includes an individual switching operator control unit and a control unit configured to monitor the actuation of the individual switching operator control unit, and select an assistance function unit when the individual switching operator control unit is activated.

A steering wheel of the system includes an outer left-hand operating device configured exclusively for driver interaction with the outer left-hand display device of the instrument cluster and an outer right-hand operating device configured exclusively for driver interaction with the outer right-hand display device of the instrument cluster. Further devices, including at least one of a display device or an operating device, are disposed laterally adjacent to the instrument cluster.
